Writing a poor police report should get you a day off with no pay. Lying on a police report should get you a year in jail minimum.

It’s crazy that lying to a cop is a crime however police are able to lie to get an arrest and or conviction.

Blame the supreme court. They ruled that a cop CAN lie.

This is what happened to me with my DUI in that city I wasn't drinking and the judge said if the cop said it it must be true with no evidence

Cops sit outside a parking garage next to a popular nightclub in the city every weekend and pull over everyone they see "Stumbling" into the parking lot. I'm not gonna lie, I was drunk 😵 and I got behind the wheel (Knowing they were watching me) as I drove around inside the parking garage to pick up my friends at the elevators. They pulled us over three blocks away and when the cop discovered everyone was drunk af except the driver who was sober as a priest (We switched seats at elevators when everyone got in). This is when the cop became visibly upset and searched the car for drugs, when that yielded nothing he impounded my car and ruined everyone's night as we sat on the curb waiting for a Uber. We had done nothing wrong other than "Piss him off" for being law abiding citizens.

Not the first time nor will it be the last time

If a cop has reasonable suspicion to contact a person continues to search after a refusal and finds criminal evidence, he/she should be disciplined even if nothing illegal is found. The suspect should still be charged and if found guilty in a trail after all evidence is presented, he/she should receive a lesser sentence.

I support the police, but if you lie then you need to get charged! What else has he lied about?

It just proves that they put the stupidest cops on the street. He's the person that turned on his body cam... Just to record himself doing a illegal search. And write it up differently. Just blows my mind.

As a former Orange County citizen, I can say that MOST cops in OC are like this! You refuse, they search anyway! I live in Las Vegas now, and our cops are the most professional I've ever encountered. Shout out to LVMPD and NHP.

Oof. This is a big problem. Now, every single case he has been the arresting officer on has to be reviewed and all the cases, whether they are guilty or not, without sufficient evidence must be overturned. That's going to cost them alot of cash.
