The film was directed and co-written by Harold Ramis (who also worked on the first film) and stars Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal who respectively reprise their roles as mobster Paul Vitti and psychiatrist Ben Sobel. In this scene they are in a car chase, and the bad guys chasing them are in a Mercedes-Benz S500 W140.

They had to crash the Mercedes into the water with the front windows down, otherwise it wouldn't have sank. That's how airtight the cabin is.

Always wanted a Mercedes W140 as a child, and when this movie came out it solidified that dream even more. Now to go back and watch this clip and have a 98 mint condition "bulletproof" S420 in the driveway hits different. Wish I could post a pic in the comments 😆

Fun fact: the Jeep (01 WJ) in this video has a transmission built with help from Mercedes. It had 6 forward gears but Jeep only programmer it to use 4 (5 on later ones).. otherwise it would have been the first mass produced 6sp auto in 99. Also, that Jeep had Quadra Drive, factory locking front and rear diffs, probably why we almost never see or hear it spin.

Какая же все таки пластика у "рубль 40" в движении 😌 Казалось бы, с длиной 140-го он должен быть неуклюжим но не совсем так. Он великолепен, даже в заносе 😌 Мерседес в 140-ом кузове. Желательно со 104-ым мотором. Автомобиль - эпоха!!!
