@00:14 The 53 man cuts for the Indianapolis Colts are going to be tough.
@02:00 Elite edge pass rush was a need, and Laiatu Latu is definitely a home run.
@06:16 Adonai Mitchell can absolutely be a dangerous weapon to the Indy offense.
@11:31 Matt Goncalves is a power tackle, that probably won't do well vs speed rushers.
@13:42 Tanor Bortolini is a smart, technically sound, center or guard. But needs to get stronger.
@15:52 Anthony Gould is a burner, return specialist, who could also back-up slot receiver.
@17:53 Jaylon Carlies is a traditional body type for Chris Ballard, but needs work at linebacker.
@19:03 Jaylin Simpson has a lot of versatility when playing defensive back.
@20:56 Micah Abraham a lot of production, but not a typical Ballard move.
@22:56 Jonah Laulu is a typical Ballard pick for 3 tech, but needs a lot of improvement in different areas.

I give you big props. You were one of only a few that nailed that pick! The law has spoken 🙌!

I think Latu is going to have a double-digit sack rookie season... he's the only DE that isn't a developmental player that Ballard has drafted at the position... he's already a polished player...

An additional aspect of AD Mitchell that could manifest itself in trick plays is that he used to play quarterback. Inagine Richardson to Mitchell to Woods....

With all that roster talent boy it sure would be nice they weren't bottom 5 in points allowed

Too much time to throw allowed by the D, and terrible FS play. Hopefully Indy finds a way to fix the FS issue. The Latu pick should help a lot with time to throw.

The reason why there was so many underthrown balls at UT for AD is Quinn Ewers didn't necessarily have a AR type of arm... It was the same case for Xavier Worthy

You don't need an AR type arm to throw 50 yards. I can throw 50 yards still today at 48 years old. But there is a lot of air under it. Minshew was throwing 50 yards, and he doesn't have a strong arm,..he just rainbows it. And when you rainbow, you NEED to lead the receiver a lot more.

@@LawrenceOwen there was a lot of games last year and even as a freshman where Ewers didn't get the ball down field to a receiver that beat the DB and they would of scored, look at the 2nd half film against Houston, Oklahoma, Kansas state, TCU from last year and his freshman year before that, and Iowa State... If we didn't have a good running game, we probably lose those games outside of Oklahoma of course... That's why people are clamoring for Archie Manning because he has shown that he can throw the ball down field without underthrown balls being a problem

How do you get to an a minus grade overall bro. And you gave an a plus and a b+ and the rest were C's and c. Minuses and a d that don't add up. But I agree more along lines with the overall grade than the individual grades. But that's just my humble opinion. I still love the podcast. Keep up the great work brother!

Who you expect to get more snaps opposite Pittman . Pierce or Mitchell ?

I think it really depends who wins the 2nd outside spot during training camp. And Run blocking has a big effect on how much play time a WR get's on this team. Just like playing TE.

@@LawrenceOwen pierce is a decent blocker too so id imagine with experience and that ability hell stil be on the field quite a bit even though id prefer it to be mitchell

I don't understand why people think drafting a QB was a bad idea for ATL. That is a shrewd move imo. They "should" be set for 15 years. Once KC's 2 guaranteed years are up l'd let there be a real QB competition.

Ugh... come on man don't cherry pick. It must have been evident Ballard wanted a CB after all the Sneed bs... DE trumps every position in football outside of Q. I know damn well you know that the way the draft unfolds is just if not more impactful than the team needs for almost team, in every draft beyond pick 2-3. It just so happens that this draft was over-the-top ridiculous with the QB picks, and 'WE'... Ballard had his pick of the defensive class. DE trumps other positions almost always. The lack of early-round CB selections does not mean he did not think it was necessary. It's just that the 'good' CBs were already taken. When all the good ones are taken before your turn, the good GMs, don't panic and take the bad ones, they adjust. I did agree with you, I did like Latu better than Turner and Verse. I just hope you are right about the pass rush win rate. He played far less competition on the regular than the Bosas and Garrett. It sure seemed like he was getting handled by Fuaga and a couple other decent Ts. He abused some rookies and guys who won't be playing football after college. He's my guy now though! Optimism time. Mitchell, I'm a bit more concerned about the 'attitude' but agree, he should be able to handle it. I really like his on-field abilities. I'm aware of, but not worried just yet about his blocking and taking plays off. Worthy did it too. It may very well just be a Texas thing. Goncalves I like even a bit more than you. Think he had a chance at being a solid 2nd had his big toe not gotten in the way. Not throwing shade at Fries he had a good jump last year, but he has 2 players coming in that may look good at RG. if he misses many reps with an injury by the time he gets healthy he may not get the spot back. And that's not mentioning his ability to backup swing T Bortolini is almost like a yin and yang between these two guys. We have some depth on this line now, all the way across, I really like it. Though im not quite as high, I think Tanor, like Worthy, is a bit boosted by a fantastic combine. Gould - Guy was my late-round mock WR choice. 10-yard was the same time as Worthy, so yeah.. fast. With the benefits of being shorter and heavier; 9lbs! These new return rules may make this part of ST even more important, hard to say. 5 may be a bit early but eh... Carlies - I understand going with the C grade. it's a late round, not bad, can't expect too much. I think this has more potential than the Speed selection. Give it some time. Not exactly the LB help I wanted but I will defer to our scouts, they seem to know what they are doing with LB. Simpson - Agree with ya here. This guy could be surprisingly good to a whole lot of fans. Abraham - indeed confusing Laulu - eh, may not be as high as you are. Fantastic guy. He's just never been taught this position for 90% of his football career. Do we need a backup for Adebawore? :) Thanks bud. good takes (mostly) as always
