A basic understanding of the anatomy of your hips and legs is essential to understand how to create, maintain and improve turn-out. It might sound like and boring topic, so jump ahead and check out our videos if you prefer. At the end of the day, your body is your instrument. You do not need to be an expert in anatomy or know more than your physiotherapist. Yet, having a good understanding of how your body is structured and move is valuable when you get stuck with your technique. So, let’s learn the basic principles of the anatomy of the turnout.

Thanks for this video, I think it just helped me to get used to the thought that I probably have set limitaions I might not overcome. I also have a question: is it possible that I have pain at around the "edge" of my hip joint sockets whenever I stretch (or cool off after stretch) for turn out because my joint "balls and sockets" have an unsuitable shape for turn out? Thank you in advance!
