No problem, thanks for watching. I don't think one is necessary. It seems to dissipate the heat fine to the metal body and I have not noticed any overheating issues. It likely would benefit from a heatsink, if you can fit one in there, but not necessary.

It is not difficult, as you said, the larger ribbon cable is where you could possibly run into issues. With most D-pad mods, you may need to open up the device sometimes 2, 3 or 4 times to tweak things. Just be honest with yourself if this is something within your comfort zone and whether the risk is worth it for you. I happen to think the D-pad is okay on here. It can be improved for sure with a mod. Just give yourself way more time than you think you need. Most of the mistakes I have made when tearing down devices were made when I got impatient and rushed things. Also, if you are going for it, be sure to use Kapton tape. Good luck!

I think it's more about the battery management of the device. The battery life itself lasts quite a long time. Turn it off completely when you are done. I prefer JelOS, but Ark is really good as well.

I am not sure where you are located but for me in Canada, it took 7 Days from order to delivery.

I purchased it before the RG405m was released. I would likely have chosen the RG405m if it had been available when I ordered.

I just purchased the same rg353m over the rg405m. Mostly because I know what I’m using it for. I think it all depends. I was interested in the small form factor and games from the 80s and 90s that I grew up with. Of course the price that I got from marketplace. For $50 for the same blue rg353m in near mint condition I just couldn’t pass that up.

That was a steal. Good find. This is still a device I use for all thr reasons you mentioned.

I tried the Linux OS that came with my device, but in my opinion, I did not notice any improvements over Android. I found Android easier to set up and use, probably because I am more familiar with it. All of the emulation I showed was done on the Android side. I will probably try out some custom operating systems in the future.

I would estimate that around seventy percent of the PSP library is able to be played without any issues. However, more graphically intensive titles such as Ratchet & Clank and God of War perform really poorly. GameCube games are just not playable, even with performance hacks the best you will squeeze out is 5 - 10 fps at best.

@@muzzworks um asking because I have the RGB20s and It’s probably very similar performance. So, many my next one will be 405 ambernic.

If you're looking for a 4:3 aspect ratio metal handheld that can play a decent selection of GameCube games, then the RG405m is the perfect choice for you. However, if you'd prefer a 16:9 aspect ratio handheld with the same chipset as the RG405M, then you should consider the Retroid Pocket Flip or Retroid Pocket 3+. PSP games will look good on a 16:9 aspect ratio screen, so that's something to keep in mind when making your decision.

I agree, from what I have seen, the rg405m is the new an improved rg353m. I may pick one up as well.

The 405m has a better chip set and bigger screen but they dropped the hdmi port and swapped the thumb stick that’s a step back for me. Hope they rerelease the 353m next year with everything the same just an advanced chipset. if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Hey @Shy-ko9dz, the device ships with quite a few non-English ROMs on it. You will need to find and replace any ROMs and games that are not in English on the device. The ROMs can be found on the second SD card that shipped with your device. Just use an SD card reader and connect it to your PC or Mac, and you will see the folders with all your ROM files on there. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you where to find ROMs, but Google is your friend here. This information is easily found.
