@@MariaNI-yf1bz Just to clarify, I didn’t say Americans. And I am totally aware that many Americans respect other countries. Some things to keep in mind: Africa is a continent of 54 countries and over 3,000 ethnicities. Africa was split into most of it’s countries known today due to colonialism(I.e. the Berlin Conference 1884-1885.) Descendants of the transatlantic slave trade’s ancestors were involuntarily brought to the “Americas” when the continent of Africa was not yet divided into countries. People of African descent know that they are of African descent, do not try to shame them for wanting to dig deeper into their own lineage. Again, this is a continent of thousands of cultural identities.

The percentage of Filipino DNA markers is extremely fascinating to me, due to it being such a small percentage there are countless possibilities on where in your family line it originated as those small percentiles are representative of more distant generations. If you have any siblings or first cousins, they may also share some of those markers, or they might be completely absent. Its one thing I love about mixing genealogy with family trees/records, cus when you get these DNA tests its easy to see the the numbers provided and go "this is what makes up me" but when you pair it with some research into your family, suddenly those percentages have faces, names, and stories.

You act like generations of different racial groups didn’t mix. Most African Americans usually have a small percentage of white in them because of the masters raping the black women who were enslaved. So this ain’t the ‘black people are everywhere’ hotep woke point you think it is

It always feels icky when learning about someone's ancestry results where the majority is African and then there's a little European sprinkled in. If someone doesn't have any recently related people with European ancestry they descended from then it's obvious to anyone who knows their history where that likely came from. It's so wrong and a reminder of a horrific time in history.
