In order to know who one is based on their ancestry, the only way is to create their own pedigree chart. DNA provides incredible information as to one's own genetic make up, but it is impossible to tell the ancestors beyond the maternal and paternal lines, for the lack of information. The easiest way to explain the lack of information, going back 20 generations, where each generation is 20 years, there are 1,048,576 contributes to your own DNA only after 400 years. Now go back to the beginning of time. To see how meaningless the information is, think of your DNA code as a book. What % of the information that you are basing your identity on that is derived from all the books of the 1,048,576 contributors? .0000001% which becomes meaningless as to who are your ancestors. By the nature of going from specific to general, then back to specific the information is lost. Hate to tell you this, but using DNA to identify one's own ancestry is fraudulent because they can't deliver on the factuality of the information. All they can do is give you a statistical analysis of how close your markers are related to the people in their data base. That is it, a best guess.
