I really appreciate this. You're not dissing either one, you're legitimately stating facts.

Thank you for making Barbie more palatable for my fragile male ego. I feel more comfortable seeing it a 2nd time now. And this time not just to see if I feel attacked. But seriously, I enjoyed Barbie. Yes it pokes fun at toxic masculinity, but it pokes fun at a lot of things, as comedies do. To your point, it doesn't say "all men are evil". ...Also, now I wanna watch Anchorman again too. Been too long.

Loved this video, I agree with everything you said. People take life too seriously...That's why comedy as a genre is dying because there is no common ground to make fun of between the generations. The gap in the mentality is too present and visible and it's ironically very sad 😅 Also, to answer the questions, the last good Comendy I saw was Palms Springs 😊

What it comes down to is. Timing!! Maybe a decade ago, the barbie movie could have been one of those movies you describe. However, with recent Hollywood trends. With all the man bashing in films. But we are supposed to take the one film that is more in your face as spoof? I dont buy it. You know how many girls are growing up with believing in the barbie movie more satirical messages unironically? And in the clips you showed of Anchorman. They come off as satirical themselves. Guys not to be taken serious. I saw the movie and they werent to be taken serious. At no point does the barbie movie poke fun at the feminist ideology. It comes off as men somehow coming to understanding what women go through. In the end of the movie, nothing is learned and barbie goes back to what it was before the movie. Hollywood has been saying men suck for a while but we are supposed to believe that this Barbie movie is going against the grain?

I didn’t realize this comparison but you’re so right! I love both movies and agree that they are funny without being “anti-men” or “anti-women”. Don’t listen to the haters!

My only purpose as a man is liking this video, leaving a comment and platonically loving Queen Becky.

Anchorman's making fun of women? 🧐 (Maybe I misunderstood.) It's making fun of narcissistic, toxic masculinity just like Barbie. Ken (before "Ken. Is. Me?!") would absolutely *worship* Ron effing Burgundy. Always appreciate your creative editing - & trying to get people to chill.

There are people who really looked at the *Barbie* trailers and almost-orange Ryan Gosling and didn't understand it was meant to be a comedy? 😂That's hilarious on its own.

100% the amount of cope that happened from conservatives in general was hilarious. Many actually thought the film would bomb when people found out it was “woke” lol

I had considered going to see this movie, but I will admit that I was put off of it by hearing bad things about how it tackled the issue of things like feminism and assorted gender relations. Your video has convinced me to consider catching it when it comes out on the streaming services and seeing for myself if it's really that bad. As for the reactions to this movie compared to Anchorman, I have a personal theory: I think one of the reasons people reacted so badly to Barbie was that the discourse involving the aforementioned feminism and gender relations has gotten far nastier in recent years, to the point that it has resulted in a serious tribalistic attitude. I am a male, and, while I never had a particular issue with gender equality as a concept, I too, struggle with tribalistic feelings like this having heard all manner of horror stories pertaining to misandrist behavior, be it false sexual assault allegations, TikTok's with women saying #killallmen and so many things like that, to the point that I have a hard time seeing any criticism or call out (no matter how legitimate) as anything other than an attack on men. That having been said, I have also noticed so many women sticking up for us lately that I think I can start working past these hangups (though it won't happen overnight, I can assure you). Anyway, sorry to go on a long-winded tangent like that, I do tend to ramble. TLDR I think I will give this movie another chance. (Also, Anchorman still makes me laugh to this day.)
