City of Athens- more than 3000 years of history in 3d reconstructions.
Explore the city and its monuments in many different periods, from around 1200 BCE to 1830 AD.
Ancient Athens 3D (www.ancientathens3d.com) was created back in 2008 as a hobby in order to show the history of Athens and its monuments with the help of 3d modelling.
Since then, the models are constantly being replaced by new, more detailed and accurate ones.
Since we are talking about representation of long lost or decayed monuments, 100% accuracy is impossible to achieve, so there is a lot of speculation in many parts (although based on facts), as well as some artistic license along with certain simplifications and omissions made for technical reasons.
The accuracy and way of restoration and representation is always open to debate, since in most cases uncertainty is a fact.

A very ingenious idea, and well thought out for that time period. The only thing that I really found disturbing was the use of those community sponges to clean up afterwards 😳! Aaaah, Hi-Tec and revolutionary toilet paper, what a marvelous invention. I retired from the plumbing and heating trade after 45 long years, and we've definitely come a long way since this first communal crapper 💩💩, I enjoyed your video, thank you for sharing. 👍🏻

Εξαιρετική προσπάθεια κ πολλα μπράβο κ ευγε, ωστοσο εισαι πολυ ατυχος που βγηκε το ασσασσινς οδυσσεια γιατι εκει η πολυπληθής αθηνα με τα αρχαία ελληνικά που τα μιλουν με εξαιρετική προφορα ειναι ανεπανάληπτη εμπειρία σε σύγκριση με το δικο σου κενο απο ανθρώπους μοντέλο.

Irritating transitions from one image to another: not enough time to view content of one image before a transitionless cut to the next image. Very gimmicky, video-game presentation. Not appropriate at all for the subject being presented

Hi! Thanks for your comment! Actually AC Odyssey is indeed a great game, but with a totally different "job", different type of reconstructions and not historically accurate! No, the model of Athens in Odyssey is very poor, and it is a very poor historical game in general. As a Greek, I consider Origins to be the one game who presents the Greek Culture more accurately and historically.

@@AncientAthens3D ive been waiting for a comment like this you are absolutely right on the surface AC looks accurate but its the subtle differences you have to look out for and to be honest their vision of ancient greece looks boring the ancient world should have a feeling of mysticism to it
