This is an 6 room Butte Top Dwelling or Ruin probably left by the Ancestral Puebloan people 800 - 1400 years ago! I found pottery sherds and chert chips from tool and arrowhead making. Tons of rocks were mined and transported to the top of this hill, all by hand, to build this amazing structure.
Thank you @Desert.Drifter , @the_pov_channel and @TheTrekPlanner for showing me a lot of people love this type of content!
I enjoy searching for ancient dwellings and going deep into the desert to find them. These dwellings are from 800 to several thousand years old! Anasazi... Hohokam... Basket People... Older?!? Who knows! I use @googleearth and @onXHunt to find these ruins.

Appreciate your gentle approach to these ruins. Came to these channels months ago and have followed them. These geographically defensible sites seem to be last stand defenses against a Mad Max world situation where cannibalism was a real threat. Andy's Pottery channel has added much in the way of tracing the origins of the peoples who made these sites and the potshards that are found by their design and art work. The Orange white and black piece you found comes from on of the half dozen dominant cultures in the area. Apparently they all stopped making pottery around 1400 AD. When Coronado and the Spanish come through the area in 1540 the land is empty, with cities on the scale of the Europe in ruins. When my ancestors arrive in 1610, the Apaches, they find it an empty but plentiful landscape to inhabit. What happened to drive these city dwellers with hundreds of years of community living into these last stand geographically isolated spots?

One can only theorize what happened, what could have happened, the politics back then. It is an ultimate mystery. What could have drove these people to expend so much energy and time to resort to such measures. It is something to think about, and everytime I do, there's always some piece of the puzzle that can't be explained. Food for thought.

They were fortified against something very substantial, I wonder what it was?
