Pro tip! As a disabled girl, putting the hook in the accessible bathroom stalls, close to the toilet is such a necessary accommodation. I have a feeding tube and am hooked to it all the time. I also use a wheelchair sometimes and have a 70lb service dog. When I use the bathroom, because the accessible stalls are big (as they should be) the hook is on the door but my bag doesn't reach from the door to the toilet so I have to worry about juggling by feeding pump backpack while trying not to fall over or dropping my tubing on the nasty floor. Quite a few disabled people are either attached to a bag or need one close by when they're using the bathroom.

I wonder if it’s also a self harm reduction method. It’s not uncommon for people to do that in private bathrooms that lock as the odds of them getting discovered before it’s too late is very low. Could be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Edit: I just read up on this as it’s a growing trend. Apparently there are several reasons for not having hooks. One is that it reduces theft in multiple occupant restrooms. Another is that it reduces people forgetting about their belongings when they’re done using the restroom. A third is that it can in some instances be an issue with disability (it can’t be too close or in a place where someone could fall and injure themselves on), not sure how much of an issue that actually is but it was one that was listed. And lastly, ya, it’s a self harm prevention tactic.

1. Hang it on the door handle 2. Loop it through the metal bar beside the toilet 3. Place it on top of the trash can 4. Put it on the back of the toilet 5. hang it on the metal triangle above the door 6. Pull down the baby changing station 7. Lay down the caution wet floor sign and place it on that (last resort)

women aren’t the only people to carry bags.
@bruhkent689525 күн бұрын
no but they’re more likely to carry bags due to the fact that we often dont have deep enough, or frankly enough at all, pockets on our pants and dresses. men are less likely to carry bags for the opposite reason
@gavindennis998825 күн бұрын
@bruhkent6895 It's not about pockets. Women carry A LOT of stuff. Makeup, snacks, gum, minipurses that serve as wallets, perfume, etc. ,etc. That's stuff a dude would leave in his center console or glove box.
@cringemuch124325 күн бұрын
@@gavindennis9988 Bro who even casually just has snacks with them? I'm pretty sure having actual pockets that can fit things will solve most women's need for bags. I just buy men's pants nowadays, I finally have somewhere to put my wallet, keys, medication and phone when I'm out

I would say designed by a person who doesn't think about details. In my cafés, there are jacket hooks, purse shelfs, diaper changing tables in the restrooms that has room for it (both in ladies and gent's, of course, with appropriate bims). We also have build-in air fresheners, sound-absorbing doors, music control and, of course, bidets.

Open the changing table there is a hook on the inside for the diaper bag to hang from it works for purses too

Male designer here, I've designed many bathrooms. Don't always blame the designer...most of the time clients want the CHEAPEST option, so all the nice "perks" get removed from the budget. I'd love to make restrooms super thoughtful and add all these features, but it rarely happens.
@theophania616325 күн бұрын
I got a bagnet for this- it’s a clip with a really strong magnet to hold your bag against something like the metal door. I got an ad for it once and immediately was sold,,..the ad was a compilation of sticking a purse with a bagnet to various surfaces like bar stools metal tables etc etc but every other clip was sticking it to a bathroom stall door with no hook and I was like “oh I absolutely need this” 😂

Put a paper towel down on the floor or even towel paper (if its clean enough for your parts it’s clean enough for your purse) make a little placemat for your purse and just put it on the ground. Universal fix unless there’s no paper in there at all then you’re on your own😂

Recently did a long drive with my cat, we got stuck in traffic so it took way longer than originally expected. I stopped so she could have a litter break & then wasn’t leaving her in the car so into the services with me she came. The toilets were so small AND nowhere to hang my cat travel bag 😂 Felt just like at home with her in my lap hehe x

As an architect it's just a bathroom functionally. That looks to be an ADA one so there is other more pressing issues than a bag holder

Somebody else mentioned there are usually hooks on the side of the changing station to hang a diaper bag on. But a decently equipped restroom should have a hook on the door to hang your coat on, unless it's in Florida or something.
