Very helpful video. Purchasing this setup soon and knowing how to align off center is good to know. Plenty of videos on installation, but nothing like yours. Thanks for posting.

This is a great video since I couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t re-attach. Now I see what to do. Thanks!

The angled re-attachment of the wd is very helpful, have not seen it on any videos nor know that it would be an issue (that I know). Great presentation, now it's time to go get mine...

Your video is good because it is the only one that discusses the angle issue. I keep having problems returning the tow vehicle lined up correctly after having been disconnected for awhile. My only criticism is that your camera doesn’t show the angle of the tv in relation to the triangle.

Excellent video Jason. Thanks! I’m not clear on how we would determine or evaluate when and how much to adjust the ‘weight distribution’ amount.

I suggest you Road Test the vehicle (Chains just snug) with a loaded Trailer attached for a short distance and pay particular attention to how the Front End (Tires/Axle) of the TV feels. When it feels lights, you need to tighten the nuts, I suggest you do it by 1/2 turn at a time each side and re Road Test. Keep doing this until you feel the Front End of the TV starting to not feel light. The resulting transformation is the result of more Trailer Weight being transferred to the TV, which is exactly what you want to happen. Once you feel this change take place, simply count the threads on the Chain Adjusters (must be the same on either side) and remember this for future reference. If you want to "Fine-Tune" the adjustment, you can experiment with 1/2 turn at a time and you will dial-in the desired feel you want!

@@bigpapaporsche1 Thank you Pat! I appreciate your reply. This sounds like a reasonable approach however, it would seem to be a more objective evaluation if we were to weigh the TV at front axle and at rear axle and then adjust accordingly. This is what we’ve done in the past (with a different WD hitch) with the help of Escapees ‘Smart Weigh’.

Nice video, BUT, I would be interested in a video showing HOW TO RECONNECT HITCH if having to hitch up at a slight angle! If the plate isn't completely lined up as when you UNHITCHED, how do I hitch back up?!?!? I hope that was clear. Y'all Be Safe!

After you tightened the chains you said: we’ll look back at the tow vehicle to see if it took the weight off the tow vehicle. To do this are you looking to verify that the back of the vehicle has raised you to a more level presentation than previously? Thanks

How is the articulation of the "Bull Dog style coupler and clearance to the body of the Andersen Hitch ball? Is it adequate for steep driveways and railroad crossings? I find that there isn't much clearance on my coupler that hits in the back and limits breakover clearance.

Does using a weight distribution hitch affect the tongue weight and TV's payload numbers or does it simply take the tongue weight and move it "forward" so that the TV is not popping a wheelie?

My f150 for example is limited to 5,000 lbs without a WDH but 12,200 with one.
