If you listen to some of the old interviews of his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, you will understand why his is. She is surprisingly very real and in touch with her inner self. Amazing considering her background all the tragedies in her life.

I have always loved Anderson Cooper... mainly because... when he started his journalism career, he kept who he was quiet. He made a name for himself without using his family name to get there. Shows his true character and he has shown how much integrity he has from day one! This guy doesn't even HAVE to work, he could be some spoiled rich guy, living a life of wealth, but he chooses to work and earn his way.

I love anderson! it took me forever to realize Gloria was his mom. I think its great they took time to write this book together before she leaves here considering her age. Im sure that was therapeutic considering what they went through.

Anderson Cooper is my favorite newscaster. He is beautiful to look at (yes I know he's gay, but he has a sublime ethereal refined class about him that is attractive to see.) He portrays himself as someone with an honest conscience and depth of humanity. There's something about him that makes you trust him, (which is not my normal reaction to most people raised by multimillionaires.) (...And my Gloria Vanderbilt jeans by his mom, were my favorites back when I was in school.)

In my father's last days, I read his medical chart (since I was taking care of much of his health care), and learned that while in the military he had been treated for an STD. Now, when a single man in his twenties is serving in a war zone, that he should contract an STD has got to be one of the least surprising things in a man's medical record, but yeah, it struck me.

Always liked & admired Anderson Cooper who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth BUT seems very humble & down to earth. Frankly, the man could have afforded not to work & day in his life & live a carefree life but is clearly one of hardest working journalists ever! And what a beautiful & free spirited woman Gloria Vanderbilt was! Loved her personality. LOL She & son had obviously a great relationship.
