Unlikely since they remarked how the sentence had recently been increased. This aligns with the rule changes the Empire announced at the beginning of the episode. Also he does not look younger there. He told Maarve "lets go somewhere easy and warm". This is establishing a time jump.

When we see Cassians face clearly in the Clone Trooper flashback, its current day Cassian reliving it. If you look closely at any shot were its not a close up of his face, you can see its a much much younger version if him. Different hair, baby cheeks. The young Cassian charging the troopers in the snow was a later retaliation for Clem's death.

Fiona Shaw and Genevieve O’Reilly stole the show this week. They’ve been consistently good the whole time but that goodbye scene with Marva was just so heart wrenching and the coded discussion at the party with Tay was so tense and gripping, especially considering that it was just two people walking through a space. I, too, was slightly confused by the flashback initially but upon rewatching it I realized it was a clever direction by Benjamin Caron, because by inserting present Cassian into the flashback (with Clem repeating his same hand-on-shoulder motion onto past Cassian), we may deduce that this is not him remembering but reliving that moment; those marching footsteps were not a reminder but a trigger.

So many of the films or series, even though they're always planet-hopping, still feel like they're in a bubble for some reason. I love how all characters get time to breathe and the slow reveals of all the complex emotions and relationships. But it works so incredibly well because the actors seem so into their characters. I read somewhere that episode 8-10 are the next arc, so I wonder if the time jump will be happening soon... but I don't see it being more than a year or so. I also am beginning to theorize that Vel will be coming after Cassian to kill him, BUT since we didn't actually see Cinta escape, I wonder if she'll recruit Cassian to help her rescue Cinta (assuming that Cinta doesn't make it off of Aldhani and gets captured), and then the two of them will break Cassian out of prison, posing as an imperial officer (since we know that Vel is proficient in espionage) and that's where Cassian will reprogram K2.

The key difference is that Luthen seems more strategic about it. Saw just wants to hurt the Empire but his actions also make the populace dislike the Rebels. This show, to me at least, is making it more difficult to appreciate other shows. The dialogue and how it acted is so good. The visuals are so good. This is the foundation that makes all the other more mystic or fantasy elements of Star Wars matter. Beautifully, brilliantly done. I thought that in Rogue One Cassein said that he was part of the rebellion since he was a little kid. I feel the next episode is likely where he learns to believe that. I think jail is where he will just have nothing else to do but spend time reading and comtemplating life, so I think he'll definitely read the manefesto. I think while he is there his adoptive mother will have done something to get herself killed. I also think he may start a friendship with a droid. In Solo the movie, and maybe elsewhere in the more current Star Wars, droids seem to be an underclass and oppressed "species" who are beginning to care about how they are treated. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the droids tasked to guard him was not reprogrammed but was given instructions or conflicting tasks that permitted it to justify self agency and ultimately work to help Cassein escape.

as a random - the more i watch star wars shows or read a novel, the more i believe that if the empire had been awake - so to speak - they might've gotten a better hold on things. there are people like Supervisor Meero who could have a tighter hold on the galaxy but with everyone being so over-confident about the stronghold of the empire [especially when the death star gets commissioned], a small, hopeful rebellion gets overlooked and could flourish

Yes - the tension in that boardroom, Mon Motha, Marvva ugh - 7 episodes in and I've yet to be disappointed. Also, how the score on SW Miami is sick!

At 15:00, Hector said “this show makes you hate Stormtroopers.” I agree. But what show or movie doesn’t.

I liked the Security Officer turned Data Cruncher guy at the office desk. I feel bad for him because he is just trying to do the right thing and chase a murder suspect, even though the murder suspect is the good guy. I hope he defects from the empire and joins rebellion

Seriously, Andor is a tv series I never thought I really needed. It is so well written, executed, with a great cast and pacing. I love this spy thriller format and it works so so well without Jedi or Sith. Feels so fresh and elevating to see this in the star wars universe!

So Cassian is arrested, leaving that lady back in his room with a box full of Imperial credits, a blaster and The Manifesto. She doesn't strike me as the type who's going to use that money to spring him. She is GONE and his entire take from that deal on Aldahni is gone with her. He's back to having nothing. It'll be very interesting to see what happens with the contents of that box.

@A 23 M. Good point. Perhaps, then, it it is Syril who sees a report on Cassian's arrest (without his beard, he looks a LOT more like the hologram Syril had). He abandons his job at Fuel Purity, heads to the planet to find Cassian...instead finds the box and the Manifesto within, which he reads....

Your forgetting he has hit put out on him. With him being in prison it protect him from both the rebellion and Empire for the time being.

I think this is where we see that water planet with the giant hexagons that Luthen is looking at in the trailer, and the underground facility where everyone is running through the passageways

I LOVE the performances from the scene between Cassian Andor and Marva before he leaves her, the scene between the Imperials at their meeting, and the scene with Cassian, that shoretrooper, and the Imperial security droid! Those moments are so intense! The last one I mention is so accurate to so many real-life situations between innocent citizens and police officers.

This series is making me love Mon Mothma more. She wasn’t just a rebel bureaucrat. She’s in as much danger as everyone else
