I thought so, except during the flashback Cassian is his current-ish age in the crowd. Also, pretty sure that kid running at those stormtroopers would have died, given their reaction in the street.
@andyd6622
@andyd6622 Жыл бұрын
Not sure why they opted to cut it that way. From the back it was clearly a different actor in different clothes. Then when we see Cassian's current face from the front he's also wearing his current outfit. Maybe to symbolize that Cassian was reliving the moment? That's the only thing that makes sense to me. Still pretty sure the kid running at the Clone troopers is Cassian. His rap sheet said he was busted for assaulting Imperial troops. The clones were always way more disciplined than the non-clone troops that came after them. My guess, they saw a kid coming at them with a stick but instead of overreacting and shooting him dead they just stunned him.

@@andyd6622 I personally think it was an artistic choice, we see adult current Cassian to establish that it is Cassian, but it's just him placed inside his memory as he recollects. Because he's feeling an extremely similar thing in nearly the exact same place. So in reality he didn't look like he does in that one shot, really he looked like his younger self.

Various locations in Scotland and England were used for filming Andor. The beach on Niamos is Cleveleys in Lancashire (north of Liverpool, England), the Dam on Aldhani is Crauchan Power Station (east of Oban, Scotland). I almost always prefer the action bits to movies and shows to the slower bits, but honestly in Andor, the slow parts are actually far more entertaining to me. My favorite scene was Mon Mothma's scene. The way she spoke and took control of the whole scene with her acting was stunning. I love the shot where they're walking through a hall and there's this interesting gate-like wall in front of them with designs that resemble spider-webs. It's like a metaphor for how she's slowly bringing that guy into her web, her conglomeration of plans and plots. Each time she helpfully suggests to him to smile just felt, somehow, menacing, in a way that usually is presented by villains, but in this case, by a protagonist. Very, very interesting.

This show has had so many good moments where I can't help but lean forward and feel upset that the episode is over. Some people may call it slow, but I just like characters talking. What is WRONG with people? WHY aren’t more people watching this?!? No question about it; this show is easily the BEST Star Wars content I’ve seen in my adult life. I now realize that following Star Wars over the last several decades has been like trying to survive on a diet of candy and Mountain Dew, and NOW, we’re finally getting fed something with actual nutritional content. Or put another way, it’s like diving into an especially well-written and riveting novel after spending years reading coloring books. Each episode is so freaking IMMERSIVE. And has so much heart! And smarts! Excellent acting, excellent storytelling, excellent production value… and so many layers of world building to explore! This is grown-up Star Wars, and I am loving the fuck out of it! 😁

Been a while since I trusted a Star Wars franchise IMPLICITLY. Every week, I can't wait to see how Andor will make me like it even more... this series NEVER makes me afraid that an episode will be a stinker. Side note: Stellan Skarsgård's character is named "Luthen". Mon Mothma mentioned it, and I'm pretty sure one other character did (maybe Bix). Side note 2: Yeah, the Spectre group is together. In fact, a lot of people think it was VERY briefly mentioned in this series (the ISB lady's assistant mentions an incident on Kessel... many have speculated that this was from the crew of the Ghost''s first mission we see in Rebels).

Hey Prieviewd, just letting you know there was a podcast with Tony Gilroy on the structure of this show. 1-2-3 go together in an arc, same with 4-5-6. He called this episode an interstitial episode, then 8-9-10 will be another 3 episode arc, and finally a two-part finale. So this wasn't necessarily part of any arc.

"What are those things" --- From Wookieepedia --- Within the Imperial Navy, code cylinders were also utilized as rank identifiers. In the case of flag officers, it related to their fleet responsibilities. New code cylinders were typically issued with every new assignment, and the officers did not normally wear them when not on active duty. They were worn in small pockets near the shoulders of the uniform tunic, with the first always placed on the left-hand pocket near the rank plaque. Those in specialist positions in the Imperial Navy also had access to them, although in their case, they served purely as insignia. Also, no idea where Jay got the idea that Bothans can shapeshift. Fictional race but never been an attribute given to them. It would have been really handy back in the old Star Wars Galaxies days if it had been true.

When I saw that Cassian calls himself Clem because of his father, I immediatly thought of you guys and how you probably feel kind of bad for a sec haha This show makes Cassian's death in Rouge One so much more tragic, maybe this was the last time he saw Bix, maybe his "I'll coming back" to his mother wouldn't become true. They even make us kind of root for imperials! And whatever is happening with Cornflake dude with the terribly annoying mother, it's insane to me that he was the villian of the first three episodes and now he's just a personification of my mood when I'm sitting around at work, what a weird character haha Man this show is truly the best thing Star Wars ever produced

The writing is so good, every word drips with tension and importance. It’s an excellent series and people who aren’t watching are missing a really important part of the history of the Rebellion. It’s their loss

I just read that the " beachresort" scenes were actually shot in Cleveleys( Lancashire) in the UK 🙂 Very cool location 👌

This episode is by far the best one ever of all Star Wars And it was only dialogue, no action. The writing is a master class and the acting especially From Mon Monthma. Omg! So good!

The Placards on their chests are rank signs as well, the more than an officer has, the higher the rank is. The Kenobi show didn't bother to do ANY research bc they were never used as keys in the past, like in the Thrawn books and rebels. So they are like medals on a generals uniform

Adam you are indeed correct the Spectre group are active but this is pre Ezra currently as the ISB don’t have specialist field agents yet which is where I think Meero is going to take us instead of just being “health inspectors” she’s gonna introduce enforcement as well since she also came from enforcement already

I just wanted to say thank you both for putting this show into context for me. There are so many moving parts that I can't catch everything, even on a rewatch, and you guys are on top of it. I appreciate the hand up! It makes me get way more out of the show, and I am enjoying it much more. Thank you!

This series is genuinely outstanding, every aspect of it is so carefully crafted by people that have a deep understanding and love for Star Wars. You guys are absolutely right when you say it's Star Wars for adults.

Mon Mothma greeted Stellan Skarsgård's character as "Luthen" in episode 4. I think you guys may have just missed it. The subtitles that same episode also identified him by that name.

I have a bad feeling the one thing that will push Cas into the rebellion is his foster mom dying at the hands of the Empire during their town's attempted coup. In an earlier episode, the place where Cas worked hung working gloves on the wall. It reminded of a gym where boxing gloves were placed together. Perhaps a metaphor for Ferrix being a bunch of fighters. Foreshadowing an imminent fight in the ring.

You guys are 100% correct. If someone says they want more adult Star Wars and aren't enjoying this, what they really want is Star Wars with more explicit violence, swearing, and/or sex. Personally, I'll take a show that doesn't insult my intelligence. The acting, dialog, and direction on this show is top notch. There is so much goodness here. I just love the story, and can't wait for more.

Two seasons of a dozen episodes each seemed like a lot when it was first announced. It's reaching a point where this show is so damn good I feel like I could watch an episode a week, every week for years and never get tired of it. I thought it was something special at the start. It's only getting better each episode. Given the way it's structured there isn't that mid season lull that some shows have because it isn't set up like a typical series. It's more like a movie spread over a few weeks. It's quite brilliant. There's no room for things to ever get boring. And the writing is so insanely good. I would have watched an entire episode of Mon Mothma talking to her friend about banking. How is it this good?

Both trapped in prisons of their own making. Cassian ran in the hope of being free of the Empire, and in the end he got arrested for it. Meanwhile, Syril ends up a literal worker drone, trapped away from his goals the outcome of all his actions.

It was nice seeing Admiral Yularan again (the old man at the first ISB meeting in the episode). He was in a number of the Clone Wars captaining ships for Anakin. He dies when the first Death Star explodes as I recall.
