It has to be absolute torture to be that big. Andre was a pretty kind man despite it. I think the story of him warming Robin Wright's head with his enormous paw on the set of Princess Bride is about the cutest thing ever.

There is a documentary about Andre and it covered how the hurt he felt mentally from being as big as he was. He could never go to a play which is something he always wanted to do. Also even though Andre had a number of friends and people who showed him respect people who didn't know him would ridicule him and insult him if he was at a restaurant or bar.

He must’ve gotten so sick of the “LMFAO you’re so big!” All the time, yet he comes across very gracious and good natured.

While that crossed my mind, it's not like he was trying to live a normal life while being huge. His whole career, all his fame, and his name itself, all centered around being a giant.

To be fair, this type of promotion wasn't as prominent as social media is today. If you got on TV, it would be ridiculous not to make a big deal of his size - no pun intended. That was his gimmick after all.

@@claiminglight also, he could've chosen to have a surgery that will stop him from growing further and he declined it. So, he liked the fact that he was a giant.
