But the highlights also show every time Andre ward lands 3 punches, kovalev would come back with one and it seemed to really affect Andre ward. But ward was still there in front of kovalev the entire night out working him and out pointing him on the inside showing Andre ward is a very versatile, high level fighter. Put your boxing goggles on and you’ll see he won the firsts fight.

The ref warned him multiple times but Kova didnt like the body shots coming back and kept looking for the ref to protect him . After which the ref had enough and deemed Kova to not be protecting himself . The ref did the right thing as Kova did not respond to the referees instructions to turn and fight . Ward is a friggin beast . ! Kova fought well untill those body blows but fell to peices under Wards continous and increasing pressure . He broke him ,mentall and physically. Tony Meeks is one of the best refs out there and gave Kova many opportunities to fight back but ultimately Ward was too much for him in those later rounds . Nothing to cry over at all .

If you watch the first fight closely, you see Kovalev started off good the early rounds and even knocking Ward down, but around the 5th or 6th round I noticed Andre figured Kovalev out and from that point won the rest of the rounds.
