ABOUT KIM'S CONVENIENCE:
"Kim's Convenience" depicts a Korean Canadian Kim family that runs a convenience store in the Moss Park neighbourhood of Toronto: parents "Appa" (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and "Umma" (Jean Yoon) - Korean for dad and mom, respectively - along with their daughter Janet (Andrea Bang) and estranged son Jung (Simu Liu). Other characters include Jung's friend and coworker Kimchee (Andrew Phung) and his manager Shannon (Nicole Power). The series is based on Ins Choi's 2011 play of the same name. Mr. and Mrs. Kim have worked hard to give their now-twenty-something children, Janet and Jung, a better life in Canada. This comedy finds laughter in the trials of running a literal 'Mom and Pop' shop while raising kids in a culture not quite your own.

She's so humble and cute. She doesn't seem too far away from her character on-screen. Can't wait for the final season to reach Netflix, I love this show, it's so good!!

@@user-yi3pe5mp9e Season 5 aired in Canada last month, the final episode was April 13, 2021. The show wasn't canceled, it was terminated by its two co-creators. They wanted out.

It's for the best. Simu is about to blow up in a big way. He's gonna have more and more commitments outside of the show. It's better to end it now, when the writers want to.

well there are incredible actors who channel other personalities in their work (like Johnny Depp or Heath Ledger - RIP), and then there are incredible actors who really bring their own personality to the table (like Samuel L). I feel like Janet was such an authentic character because Andrea seems to be more of the latter type.

She's such a gem. I'm sooooooooo mad that this show is no longer airing. If Netflix gave Degrassi a revival, then surely they can do this show as it's 10x better.

Bang was so wonderful so cute and just a delight in Kims. So sad that Choi pulled the plug. Kim's had so much more life in it. You are a superb actress. Looking forward to seeing you more.

I literally just started watching this show about 2 weeks ago. And I must say, I can't believe it wasn't renewed. It looks like it's fantastic and sounds like it has a strong following. Hopefully CBC will cave and pick it back up

CBC didn't cancel the show, the producers concluded the show to work on other projects.

I, too, also discovered this show just over a week ago and my boyfriend and I have already ran through the first 3 seasons. It is soooo good - funny, charming, heart-warming, and genuinely emotional at times!!

It's hard to believe she was so inexperienced. Her performance on this show was amazing. She showed both the strength and the vulnerability of her character without going overboard. I think Janet was the character the audience most rooted for.

I don't know why but ever time I see her on Screen I get Anna Kendrick Vibe from Pitch Perfect. Basically the voice (None Singing) and some of the Acting. Great Actor and yes there is still more Story tell. They could have Mother MS really hit her hard. They could have season six all about selling the store and retiring because of Wifes Health Problems. They could have the Son Owning his own business and marrying his old boss. The Daughter could leave for a job out of Town as a Photo Artist. Doesn't feel like we got closure on story.

It really is a good show. The cast was great. Andrea Bang was great as Janet. Unfortunate how it ended so abruptly, especially for the actors who were so invested and integral to the show.
