The cool weather of Azrou was about to get a lot colder, with snow predicted over the following days. We make our way south towards the Sahara desert with a stopover in the Ziz valley. The terrain completely changes with every kilometer and this is a Morocco we have not seen yet.
To witness the red dunes of the Sahara appearing over the horizon as we inched closer toward Merzouga is a special feeling.

Great film guys - we felt Andre's pain and Lisa's too on the climb - the sensible thing to do is stop before you make a mistake! The hike looked good though - and the hiking through the dunes looked incredible. You two (as others have said in the comments) are natural at this and make such lovely films - great travel vlogs with a real human element. There are many vloggers in this genre and you guys stand out from the crowd🥰

Wonderful footage. I would have stayed with Lisa on that hike, I'm afraid. It looked a bit scary for me. I keep getting worried that you are going to get lost in the Sahara desert and we will never hear of you again, but hold on... how did you manage to post this video, so you're both safe ! Someone found the footage and made a spoof vlog documentary thingy? The Sahara Witch Project. Side note, today we stopped at the gas station film set for The Have Eyes. It's been preserved unchanged since the movie was made in 2006.

Good question! Must admit our van has been very good for us so far. We often think about something more modern (cruise control, aircon would be nice) but we're just so happy with her and as long as its going without issues we'll hold on to it.

Most of fuel stations in big cities use cards.. the issue with that station I think is the issue of connexion.

At one station the attendant actually said "we don't have it anymore". Also, they often have doubts whether foreign cards will work. At one station they took the card but insisted we 'prepay'. So it's understandable.

Great photography thank you, especially of the Sahara dessert. Was wondering from the video that you carried the drone up the mountain. Does it weigh a lot?

Sadly, we had to leave our drone in Spain. You need a permit to use one in Morocco and that's impossible to get unless you're working on big productions. The 'follow shots' are done using an Insta360 X3 camera on an 'invisible' 3m extension pole. That said, we would normally carry our drone everywhere. The kit only weighs about 700g. You can choose the auto translate option to see any that are not on the list. The base subtitles are manually done in English and all the others are auto translated. But of course, we'll add Turkish to the manual list.

Hi Pieter. It's actually a 'normal' folding type balcony / radiator / windowsill type of clothes dryer. If you search those terms you will find examples of it. We just made some hooks that fit the profile under the windows so that we can use the rack on all sides of the van.
