Andreas Ottensamer is a super genius on the clarinet, and he is THE handsomest classical musician. Period.

That is unexpected!!! The conductor is the drummer!!! WTF!!! Ottensamer is magnificent and talented as so he is handsome!!!! OMG!!!

Great music, wondeful Andreas and Orchestra. I didn't know this piece but I think is wonderful. Makes me think in George Gerschwin's music. Thank you very much for sharing this jewel. Amazing. Can't stop watching. Wish I was there.

Beats the stuffing out of Martin Frost's effort for sure. What is it about Frost that he is always trying to show of his speed and his overly fast triple or LOL! quadruple tonguing. Part two with the drums is particularly jazzy! He made it his own instead of just straight copying of Shaw! Excellent work! I am a fan of Shaw for 70 years and I say I love this.

Fantastisch, auch diese Musik "im Blut".
@basilpeewit33504 жыл бұрын
@jazzherbert4 жыл бұрын
Vollkommen richtig!!!

Conductor is Lorenzo Viotti, He is conducting and also playing. to be honest an orchestra actually does not need a concductor in every piece.. ''Personal opinion''

Freaking amazing player, maybe best to stick to the straight ahead classical stuff. this ain't so swingin'.
@benjaminhorwitz11722 ай бұрын
Sorry, sounds more like an exercise from Lazarus book 1. Listen to Artie Shaw play it and you'll know why he doesn't "swing" Nice try though, but stick with Mozart and the Berlin Phil.

If there is only one way to play a piece, it's not worth it.Here was fun of international cross over, an Austrian, Italian playing with a Turkish orchestra

Totally agree with you Marc awful ….no idea of style not quite as bad as Martin frost version tho What is it with these players ??
@N.Hertha04 Жыл бұрын
I understand that, but after all he is a classical trained clarinetist. And also playing the German system. I think that also makes a big difference in interpretation and tone.
@Levi-gp3im Жыл бұрын
I don't understand what the problem is. Andreas is an excellent clarinetist. Music is all about interpretation and if you have any respect for music as an art, you should know that. If everyone played a peice in the exact same way, then why even bother performing? This is his take on the peice and he can play it how he likes, if you enjoy the original more, then listen to that. You also need to keep in mind that most non musicians appreciate the skill required to play a peice and not how it is interpreted. I respect the work put into this performance and a different take is always welcome in my eyes. If you prefer the way that Artie performed, listen to that instead and take your comments elsewhere.
@robandmarageraghty33413 жыл бұрын
I LOVE his playing. But this is awful. It almost feels like he has contempt for ‘jazz’ clarinet. Use your beautiful sound, don’t make it worse and think it’s ‘jazz’.
@SiFiClark Жыл бұрын
It really feels like I'm the man, what? Bit of jazz? No problem guv...Er yeah.. problem mate...technique doesn't equal feel and understanding
@hagenkubasch42352 жыл бұрын
@christianhartmuth18245 жыл бұрын
@alessandrofiore7655 жыл бұрын

"They don't mean a thing, cause they ain't got that swing" Very poor interpretation of a jazz concert, by the clarinetist and "drummer". You have to take it serious to not sound ridiculous.
@scottstacey74472 жыл бұрын
The drummer, unfortunately, couldn't make up his mind to play the tom tomming like Nick Fatool (original drummer on the Shaw 12-inch 78) or speed up like Gene Krupa's "Sing, Sing, Sing." It seems like he didn't know what he wanted to do and the result was a disappointment. If you are going to play this composition, you don't mix it up. Result: Confusion.
