As a side note, that studio is really beautiful. The floor, the walls, the space and lighting. It's just a really nice space. It makes even their shadows look soft and graceful.

It really was! Sometimes you see the woman bump into or slide against the man as she comes down. But this lift was gorgeous.

She couldn’t get the balance at 5:00 and it was cute when he caught her. Looks like they had to improvise a bit to make up for the lost balancing time.

This is the first time in this pas that I felt he was more dangerous than she. She is not an Odile. Odile is poison, she is angular, her grace is feigned. I can't believe Mayara wasn't coached in this role.

They coach, just the result is usually the same, stiff, self copious, arrogant, no dynamics, and unidimensional. She is also too strong for a fairytale heroin, even fro Black Swan. The vulnerability is non-existent, why should the prince help her? She comes across as being to slap the witch, the prince all every body out of her way and immediately end this nonsense spell. Also, technique displayed for the technique, which is strong, but at times senseless. The grand poses are not there either, unfinished arabesques, they should look like explosions, not a stiff middle thing.

Is it just me or is Mayara In- between beats of rhythm at times? Especially with the developpes in the first diagonal from upper stage left..

I was looking forward to this pas de deux, but she did not exude Odile for me. She lacks Odile's slyness, her haughty demeanor concealed in the intricacy of the dance. Odile is a villainess, the opposite of Odette. This should be evident in the motion. I'm puzzled, because Mayara is such a superb actress. She just needed a bit more obvious falseness to convey she is not Odette.

Mayara’s timing is off in several places and although technically she’s good her characterization of the role is primitive to nonexistent. Hopefully someone is coaching her. Matthew is delightful and very talented. He deserves a partner with whom he can establish more chemistry.

Mayara has played Swan Lake along Cesar Corrales in the Royal Ballet weeks ago. Matthew is rehearsing with her because she will dance this PDD with Jacopo Tissi on the Final Gala on the Youth America Grand Prix. In my opinion, Matthew and Mayara are a beautiful couple. They reheasal together very often.

The timing is off because the music is not the music they were dancing live on the rehearsal. It is very obviously edit so it sounds a bit better. It’s like a “voice over song” and liking dubbing it not always matches the mouth, the same applies here. As for chemistry they obviously have it, not only are they are couple in real life, but till this day they had 2 of the best couple dance that happened during the pandemic for the Royal Ballet, a pdd of Within the Golden Hour and a pdd of Carrousel.

Mayara Magri is a great dramatic dancer and very musical. The RB is very much focused on technique and I see in this video her technique has developed to an amazing extent in the last year. Now, I'd love to see her as Gisele. She is one of the few dancers who can move one seriously to tears.
