The Slide & Lock system was designed by JA Master Bench Jeweller Jeff Mathews to help jewellers work more efficiently. The Tru-Axis Adapter was designed for those that own the Original Slide & Lock (#004-757) and work under a microscope. Once installed the user is able to maintain a set height of the Slide and Lock, allowing the Tru-Axis Adapter to travel up to 4" vertically without contacting the microscope. By simply opening the brass handle you can quickly reposition the height of your work for easy adjustments or to move to the next task. This will save time moving through the steps of fabrication and setting. The adapter must be paired with the Original Slide & Lock. The system interfaces with any tool that attaches to the GRS Fixed Mounting Plate. This includes any BenchMate® models, Block Shelf, Bench Pin, Multi-Purpose Vise, and more.

It was a nice overview, but it still leaves me wanting to see the full range of motion Tru-Axis adapter. Also, would the actual Tru-Axis system be any different spec-wise than the original slide and lock with the adapter?

@ 12:00 Is it possible to turn the adapter up side down so the locking clip is on the bottom? That may allow for some extra room

Andrew, I have question about the ring file . I am unfamiliar with the measures of coarseness and want to order a ring file. There is a lot to files and maybe you could do a video on them or point me to one that you may have already made. I would like a recommendation for my 1st ring file.

If I may suggest, I just ordered 925 stock from Amazon. (Different companies to compare). As far as being a jeweler, you'll never get more satisfaction. From a artist point of view. I fabricate , anyone can solder parts together , a real jeweler starts with a creation. And I strongly suggest , take a jewlers class at your local jr. college to learn basic stone setting. There's no limit to your imagination

what a load of rubbish, sorry Andrew but the grs gear you must have about two grands worth or more grs stuff on that bench and to get it all to work together you need an adapter, to me that is just stupid, , you need an adapter to use an adapter no way, spend another 3 4hundred quid I would sooner lower my bench peg screwing another piece of wood under the work surface and put my bench peg on that to make room for the microscope, if those clamps on the back of that gizmo are brass and you are a busy jeweller I don't see them lasting to long either sorry but I will stick to my bench peg, take care keep well.

yes it's all true what you say but they rely on suckers like me to pay their outrageous prices because I like to have all the fancy gadgets on my work bench
