I liked the first season of Futurama only because we are discovering the future with Fry. Fry's exploration into the new century, planets, species, and society should've been one of the main focus throughout the series. They had so much potential like Rick & Morty to venture out in every episode but they wasted by staying on Earth for majority of the episodes. They're literally a shipping company.

The Genius of Katie Dippold in this prank, not just in coming up with it but knowing Bobby was the perfect tool to make it happen. From knowing he wouldn’t take the time to put 2 and 2 together and also that his delivery, reputation and demeanor would be the most convincing at the table, GB 2016 forgiven Katie.

It fell apart like all the shows like GOT. The hype wagon comes around with casual fans who got on it and it ruined the content to now try to please all audiences. It started at season 3. Severance, a show from Apple will see the same fate for its next season.

I got into Rick and Morty relatively late, and I thought that the hype would make it so that it wouldn't live up to the hype. But I did end up liking it a lot. I'm not a fanatic or anything, it's not my favourite show, but I like it. It's up there with South Park, Futurama, Family Guy or classic Simpsons for sure. I think that Justin Roiland getting sacked will pretty much kill it, though.

I'm in the same boat as you. It's good but it's not nearly as good as a lot of these dipshits like to pretend it is. Honestly I feel like those incredibly annoying "fans" have probably done more to hurt the show then they ever have to help it. FWIW there's an animated show on Hulu that I really enjoyed that I rarely see get mentioned (which I will not help at all by not mentioning the name....that I can't remember lol) but is actually pretty funny

The Simpsons is so fundamental to “adult animation.” Any quality adult animation that isn’t just reliant on shock humour and randomness such as Archer can trace its roots back to The Simpsons for kind of jokes that were made.

I hate Rick & Morty, it's just cringey edgy humor. Never been a huge fan of the Simpsons, but do respect it for the earlier seasons and the legend that it is. I used to watch Family Guy but it doesn't hit the same anymore. Iiked American Dad more than Family Guy. I love South Park and still watch it to this day. They make fun of everyone indiscriminately, and I appreciate that. Sometimes it makes fun of things I find stupid, and sometimes it makes fun of my own beliefs. And they do a hilarious job at it.

My ex made me watch the first 3 seasons of Rick and Morty and I felt every minute of it. Never laughed out loud once aside from like 4 forced chuckles for her sake, I just never found it funny. It isn't even close to south park and anybody who says otherwise should be hospitalized indefinitely lol

The thing that alot of BIG adult cartoons have as an Achilles heel is that they are of their time, not to say Simpsons/South Park/ Rick and Morty don't age well but in a way you have to have been there when it was happening, I look back at some the early 2000s Adult Swim stuff that my cousin, friends and I were obsessed with and they're alright but at that time the idea of beloved Hanna Barbera cartoon characters being parodied like that was unfathomable to our brains but now, it's like... Y'know some the shows are hit or miss and the stuff we still like are too embedded into pop culture, their novelty is gone.

For me the top Adult Animated Comedies are definitely King of the Hill and South Park, but I think Beavis and Butthead, F is for Family and Smiling friends are also fantastic. If you don’t like King of the Hill you should either try it again from the Pilot episode, or one of the following two. You either need to wait a few years to mature cause you’re still a teenager and you don’t get the jokes or you have bad taste/a bad sense of humor.

Most ppl I know don't appreciate King of the Hill, but it's so good and unique. I remember meeting one of the writers (through my work) and I started profusely praising him for the episodes he worked on. He was incredibly humble and looked so bewildered to be receiving recognition.

I know everyone says it but Simpsons did decline from season about 9/10 there are some good later episodes but the quality of the show for me dropped an they focused alot more on the wackiness an the funny gags where as in the early seasons alot of the episodes had heart an emotion to them aswell as the funny gags an they had ways of telling multiple jokes in just a single short scene

Honestly, Futurama and south park were the only two adult cartoons that I actually enjoyed. American dad is alright but I never found family guy that funny. The Simpsons I'm split on because I enjoyed the Simpsons movie and hit and run, but I never actively watched it.

I’m with Bobby in the sense that whenever I watched classic Simpsons I never laughed out loud even tho I got all the jokes it just wasn’t laugh out loud funny to me more like oh that’s Clever or I see the humor in that and the writers winking through the writing but nothing to freak out about never understood why people think it’s the funniest thing ever because I honestly can’t remember busting out laughing once and I saw at least the first 10 seasons

You really have to appreciate what a masterclass of comedy writing it is though. If you aren’t laughing out loud, to each their own. But in the early seasons, every episode would have like 5 jokes every 10 seconds. Most were very funny, but that’s my subjective opinion. But if you can’t respect the Simpsons, try sitting down to write some jokes of your own and get back to me lol

Based off one season, most people weren't obsessed either. In fact, they blew up more with Season 2. They clearly even upped their game in the voice acting department. The animations saw an improvement as well. So the quality of the overall product, so to speak, was better. Give Season 2 a try. If you can't, hey, you can stop with the mid season. Wait, did they do that back then already? I know they eventually would have mid season finales or whatever. Then wait to continue the season. Takes time to make, obviously.

I honestly never understood the appeal of the Simpsons either. Like, I get what kind of content it is and I understand the target audience, I'm just not in it.

They're both the same. One has a family spin, one has a sci-fi spin. It's all depending on what theme you're into

Im not a Rick and Morty Fan but I like Ren and Stimpy, and Im not a simpsons(present day) fan either. Comedy is art, subjective

ahhh, I thought I was alone on the Simpsons....it was never funny to me ever.... and i'm a 90's kid. Rick and Morty however, probably one of my fav cartoons. BTw that story of Bobby with the unique script- HILARIOUS lol I laughed soo hard

American Dad is so much better than family guy. Patrick Stewart doing Mike Myers’ impression of a British accent. Roger always playing the protagonist and antagonist. However. 5. Tom goes to the mayor 4. Mike Tyson Mysteries 3. The Simpsons (only season 1-5) 2. South Park 1. South Park

I'm with the ginger for once, at least on this subject, I caught some of the 1st episodes from the 1st season. I didn't really think it was that good and I just quit watching it and then it became this big fad, which like every other fad everybody's got to jump on the wagon so that's basically why it's so popular. It's because there's a bunch of Followers and not many people who would Try to think for themselves Not to say the show doesn't have genuine fans. I get Santino. I had the same feeling listening Linkin Park in the early 00's. People were OBSSESSED with them and i was like...yeah it's cool but i don't get all the crazy hype around it.
