Just to add balance let me tell you a true story concerning the great Michael Caine in the late nineties he came in to a small restaurant that a friend of mine called Sue worked in, it was only about 11 o'clock and all he wanted was coffee and some toast, Sue served him but after a couple of minutes the owner went over to see him and after came back to the kitchen area and started to loudly tell Sue that the toast was burnt and she should not of served it to him as it could harm the restaurants reputation, anyway there was a cough and there stood Michael Caine he told the owner that he had specifically asked for well done toast as that was how he liked it (he hadn't at all but must of overhead the Conversation not only that but he gave Sue a really good tip and signed a napkin with a really sweet note that said he understood how hard she worked and thank you for the great service. Now that is a real star

One of my first jobs was at a quick service soup restaurant in downtown Chicago. We had a policy that customers couldn't touch the soup kettles for safety and health reasons. I was having a bad day and a man in a nice leather jacket with a beautiful woman on his arm walks in and immediately starts sticking his face in the kettles to smell the soups. We were trained to politely take the ladle and lid from them and ask if they wanted a sample. This man immediately became annoyed and had this big attitude with me. He started ordering by just pointing at the soups he wanted and saying "I want two of this, one of this, give me 3 lobster bisque, 1 clam chowder and extra bread!" I was so frustrated that I never even looked him in the eye. I take him down to the register to pay and he pulls out a huge wad of cash and starts going through $100 bills one by one until he got to a $50 (it took him awhile!). After the transaction, one of my co-workers has a smile on his face and said "Do you know who that was?!" and I quickly responded "Yeah, a F'n asshole!" and everyone was like "Dennis Quaid!!!". I didn't believe them until I checked the cameras in the office and Yup that was D Quaid. I still hate him to this day and refuse to watch any of his movies. Everyone knows Randy Quaid is better Hahahaha

I am a nobody, grew up in a small town farming in Maine. Later in life I’m in California with some friends and one of my friends is the manager of this club/restaurant. So no dress code no waiting not pat down just walk right in. I step outside and this woman walks by to go into the club, I said hello and try to spark a conversation, she straight ignored me like I was not even there. I thought “ well okay, she is not obligated to speak to me” so I am going back towards the door to get back in and I see her trying to get past the bouncer and rope and he’s not letting her in, he sees me coming, pushes her to the side and opens the rope. The look on her face was priceless, and she immediately tried to talk to me and say she was with me and I said “nope, I don’t know that lady” felt great!

As someone who works in food service the idea that you have to tip double is ridiculous! No idea where Andrew gets that from, when my boss comped his friends they would pay ~50% of the cost of the tab as a tip, and that was awesome!

A similar thing happened to me with a professional hockey player. I worked at a computer store and started answering questions for a tall athletic looking guy then walked away thinking nothing of it. Then another person in the store walked up to me and told me that I was just talking to "Fill in Hockey Player's Name" from the St. Louis Blues. ... It was such a non-event I don't even remember the guy's name.

I wouldn't jump through hoops if somebody told me the person I was serving was famous, and I didn't recognize them, it would feel fake as fuck and unnatural as hell, pretending to fawn over someone who you have no clue about 🤷🏼‍♀️ I really hope that girl didn't get fired, how can you lose your job over the fact you don't know someone? It's not gonna make a random person any more special to me if I haven't heard of them lol.

Or, if you're like Rogan, you forget being human. He gets annoyed when he gets recognized, yet uses his star power knowing he can get what other people can't (and by getting what he wanted in that steak house, he was backing up service for everyone else; guaranteed he set wait times for every other table back 30 minutes or more, with all the steak they were pushing out for his table).
@JonahNelson7

Funny thing about the human mind is that it recognizes negative things very easily. In nature the humans that weren't obsessed with the negative aspects of the current situation didn't do as well, so we're kinda stuck with the relatively pessimistic psychology regardless of how much better it objectively gets
