I stay away from most news stories about this situation, but this calm, civil, reasoned discussion is a huge breath of fresh air to me. Thank you.

This video interview had a great deal in common w the news coverage + analysis I've consumed about this topic. But then, I don't view Fox "news" channels as that coverage tends to be very sesationalistic.

@@BonafideGail Hmm, rather heavy-handed judgement and scolding here. But if it makes you feel better, I don't stay away from reading about new events, I stay away from videos. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear in my original post.

I have issues with this interview for the reason all of the Regulatory, Law Enforcement, and Justice Agencies, going back at least 24 years, prosecute NO special interests. And the ones that are prosecuted, eventually get off or get a slap on the wrist and a sweetheart deal. And if by chance they do get convicted, there will be a pardon or a supreme court verdict that overrules it.

How about Trump being the first POTUS to commit crimes while in office or after holding the office of the Presidency? Does that not supersede indictment for such crimes?
@sanfordjay1
@sanfordjay1 Жыл бұрын
Didn’t Nixon commit crimes while in office? He wasn’t prosecuted because Watergate Special Prosecutor Leon Jaworski wouldn’t ask the grand jury to indict and then President Gerald Ford pardoned him after he resigned.

Absolutely *love Andrew Weissman,* but for pity's sake, when will American journalists stop parroting that ridiculous *_QUOTE_* thing every time they recount a "She said..." or "He said..." 🗣 The very presence of the word *'said'* _already_ tells us it's a quote. Doing otherwise just sounds jarring. Talk like a human being, please. There are far more natural ways of letting us know it's a direct quote - using vocal tone, pause, power, pitch etc. It's what the voice is _meant_ for.

Well, the forthcoming documents trial will be in Florida. Have you ever actually _sat_ on a jury for a major case, Mr Consonants-and-Some-Numbers? Do you know how disciplined and rigorous you have to be? A fair trial is down to the indictments brought and whether his lawyers - currently dropping like flies - can raise a quality, fact-based defence. At this rate, he'll be lucky to get _Lionel Hutz_ defending him. ⚖🍊
