This is part of your testimony. Transparency is key. You never know who will be set free from their own stuff because you trusted God with telling the truth in raw form. Don't ever delete this vid. Also, y'alls "baggage" is equivalent to a Ziplock sandwich bag when compared to what other people are lugging around. Keep sharing. It's ministry. ❤

It’s not embarrassing, it’s REAL. Relationships don’t usually start perfectly and definitely have their imperfect moments, especially at the beginning. But the imperfect moments can lead to the beautiful ones. Love your guys honesty and transparency. You’re both so relatable and down to earth. God bless you both, I wish you life long happiness and love.

Thank you guys so much for doing this! I love the podcasts! Love the authenticity and honesty you bring. Maybe certain situations are embarrassing or seemingly unimportant to talk about but it’s so impactful to see you guys be so open and willing to share even the seemingly trivial things. But it’s not! Your honesty has made feel more relaxed in approaching relationships because I realize that no one is perfect and we all make mistakes, and that God can use anything he wants to in our lives! Thanks for devoting the time to do this!

I wouldn’t label this one “embarrassing” because I think it’s raw truth about how human relationships actually work. “Hot mess and not smooth” is a REAL relationship vs. all ‘perfect-y’ and pretty and easy. Being your true self and trying to partner with another human is absolutely messy. The key there is each person being authentically themselves while trying to “merge” (for lack of a better word) with someone else. To be vulnerable and honest with each other is a HUGE gamble with your heart, and I don’t see how that can’t be messy nor smooth. Not if you want to get real and build a solid foundation as a couple. I love what you said Shawn - “open your heart to the intention behind it” - we all f-up but in an honest relationship you have to know there’s never ill-intended actions nor words. Poorly executed? Yes! But never malice. If you can know and feel that about your partner, so many interactions can be de-escalated quickly. I speak from experience on this - my husband just assumes I’m always trying to get in a dig at him. It sucks, but I know that says way more about him and his insecurities. I hope lots of young people listen to this and learn from it. This is a good one! 💗

I am a 55 year old lady who has loved artistic gymnastics since I was a little girl growing up in the 1970`s.Shawn ,your my top 5 ever of the best gymnastics gold medal winner's ever! Because of you ,I started to watch your other channels, but now I realize it is the whole family that I love to watch! You and Andrew are so fresh and I feel like your so natural and both friendly, likeable a,nd entertaining. I am a Christian, a preschool teacher, mom of three grown adult children, also a baby who is in Heaven who died from SIDS. I had four caesareans, and like you Shawn, I though that I had failed. I feel like I am connected by mutual experiences when I watch you. Keep it up, your the best thing to watch! Your baby daughter is just precious as are both of you and Andrew, even the cute doggy Nash. Sorry this is so long, but I really wanted you to know that your show is what was missing ,and now your sharing your hearts and home with us all! Thank you both so much!! It's ok to make mistakes. You are being your genuine selves and having grace towards each other. Be kind to each other as much as you can. Great video. Thanks - I'm a straightforward type and try to be kind, genuine, grateful and appreciative (after making my mistakes) to my husband. I've found that it's the couples who purposely overlook the little things that are "annoying" to each other who fare best. It's not always easy, but it's worth it. Love you guys!

This was a great video, we have all walked the walk of making small choices that when we look back could of been said better, treated different...but eventually it's your authentic self and with the right match you can be that and get right back on the road of your future...there will always be lil things...with the right foundation and right person you will travel that road together and those will just be lil speedbumps, you will get thru them together and keep traveling down that road! Was thinking as I was watching you named your daughter after Andrew's name..so if you have a son it should have part of Shawn's name. I came up with Shane....whatcha think...could work for a girl toooooo ! Hugz to u both!!

One of your best videos. Relationships are messy. Honesty is always best and you learn how to be honest with tact the more you practice. You two are absolutely right about being yourself, you can only pretend for so long. This video shows how much work goes into making love work. Love alone will not keep a relationship alive, work is love's nutrition. Wonderful video. God bless you both.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and for being so candid and honest! I’m sure that was really awkward to put it all out there. I have to say, you both remind me of my husband and I when we were dating, in that, it was all very surreal to know that you loved someone so early on in the relationship and knew that they were going to be your lifelong partner. My husband and I actually got married very young but we’ve been together now for 27 years and I am still very much in love with him. I can see that you both have a very special relationship. However many mistakes there may have been you show that if something is meant to be, it will be. It's refreshing to see a couple who understand that a marriage is both a commitment and a journey - and that it takes work. Your honesty with each other and willingness to forgive are lessons many people would benefit from learning.
