I remember thinking in the early 2000s how "phone" was the first new addition to "keys, wallet, phone" in hundreds of years. "keys" and "wallet" were added gradually over time, as people carried those things more, but we all got a 3rd EDC item basically all at once.

Depending on if and which bag(s) I bring, also the following: wallet, multiple pens both ballpoint and felt-tip, thumb drive, lip balm, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, condoms, wet wipes, caffeine mint gum, old notebook, sticky notes, lighter, vape unit, mini bottle of vape liquid, long papes & paper filters, prescription sunglasses in case, microfiber cloth, backup cable headphones in mini case, photocopy of passport, headlamp (LED flashlight on an elastic band), cub scout knife, old phone as backup and music listening device, fresh FFP2 mask (preferably still in an individually sealed bag but I have a few that came in a multi pack that haven't been used), at least one plastic baggie, an old orange prescription bottle, backup airline crap cable earbuds in mini ziploc bag, lightweight rain jacket that can be stuffed into one of its own pockets, small bottle of water (not disposable), and up until this weekend Thinsulate gloves and a multipurpose tube scarf.

This is Florida basically except you don't even need the CCL/CCW anymore. Pretty much all the red states and some of the purple and blue allow carry without any form of government obstruction/hindrance now. Unfortunately, most of the mass events occur at places where you can't carry these things. They gotta work on that somehow. My edc is actually: LEFT POCKET: Leather slim wallet with metal frame and bottle opener on it Galaxy buds + Lip chap RIGHT POCKET: Phone in leather case Pepper spray Keys(in the tiny pocket to keep phone from getting scratched) And that’s it lol But I really do carry this shit every day

In the 2.5D mmorpg I used to play from 2002 there's a limited capacity you can bring with you based on your class and level, most people go out of town with just the essential items and loaded down with consumables for hunting monsters like mana potions health potions arrows runes etc I was known as the guy who carried everything, like carried my depot(item storage in town) in my backpack I had a multi tool which was a substitute for 4 other tools, but that jams every 20 uses or so and has a cool down of a few minutes so I also carried all 3 of the basic tools rope shovel pick axe, as well as niche tools such as heavy machete even when I know I'm not going to the jungle, also bring various niche runes such as destroy field runes to uncover blocked areas and every type of elemental wall and bomb to trap or funnel monsters, I'd also carry potions for other classes than my own unless my friends needed them, and also I had a fire axe in my backpack in case I ran into a ghost or another monster which is immune to physical damage, also carried a bunch of travel talismans in case I need to barter with npcs like scarab coins and demonic essence and minor crystalline tokens, anything we need any time of the day
