The photographer snapped their shot of him mid head-bang, looking like all that hair was standing straight up. I've been a fan of them ever since, and Newsted was my favorite member. I think it was at the AMA's where I first saw him sporting the shaved head. I was like, "What?!?" Ah well.

Haha, loves how they point out My Friend of Misery" at the end. It was also just Newstead, who is the THEN new guy in the group, who got the best opening song ever for Metallica song and blackened as his primary songwriting credit on that tune. And Jason For All...As great as cliff was, what an introduction to write the main riffs for that KILLER opening song for the last REAL OLD SCHOOL Metallica album ever

Bro to live is to die should be played live all times, even just the clean part from Kirk as an intermission while James talks to the audience or sm shit

My Friend of Misery god they need to play that more often even now. In about 5 minutes from now, they gonna post their first My Friend of Misery live video after almost 10 years. It’s such a good song. The God That Failed too.

Man, i miss the good old days of the late 80s early 90s going to see these guys. Their shows were absolutely insane back then. I remember one show at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta in about 93. A large portion of the venue is a huge lawn and that entire lawn was a mosh pit. You could look at it from a distance and see this massive swirl of people and body's flying everywhere. I saw a guy come rolling out of the pit with his leg broken backwards at the knee. I saw these bouncers pick this huge guy up that was starting trouble and threw this guy out by his head. It was so insane those shows back then. You could see this massive crowd and mosh pit and watch as dozens of beer bottles were launched into the air and watch as the bottle came down and popped some unexpecting person in the head. I remember I had went with my buddy who was this huge guy. I got knocked down in the pit and was getting trampled. It was terrifying as I thought I would die. Next thing I know I see my buddy and he pulls me up and right at that time he gets knocked down and I swear this huge guy comes flying up and it's like a cartoon as body's are flying in all directions as he just starts throwing people everywhere. It was a blast.

He was actually abused in the band I saw and heard. You can tell by his body language and from what I know about psychological abuse and the personalities, I know he was abused. Imagine the excitement when he wins a contest to be playing with his favorite band of all time, the feeling of excitement but also of not being worthy or good enough, he is DRIVEN to worship them just by that senecio alone, nevermind Jason's gentle personality, then this coupled with drive to be good enough and the soaring enormous egos of the other band members...who, in the way they decided to pick a fan just shows the Intent with the power over the new band member not to mention how they'll never have to pay him as much. I hope they all have realized what jerks they were to him. Just saying.
