Күн бұрынIn this video, I talk about all the new features and changes that can be seen on the first Android 12 Developer Preview on the Nokia X20, and how it compares against Android 11, shown on the Nokia X10.
PLEASE DON'T UPDATE YOUR X20 IF ITS YOUR DAILY DRIVER.
The update is still buggy and I don't think its good enough for daily use.

Also, WP8 was the only OS ever that nailed flat design. I want skeumorphism, Aqua and Aero back! Especially now, with large, sharp displays and UI scaling.

It's still being used, but now has become almost industry standard. It's a polarizing filter and another example where Nokia pushed the whole industry forward.

EU and EU/Germany as it was in the news will try to force smartphone companies to give everyone 5 years of OS and security updates! I really wish and hope they can make it a new law here👍👏

@@petrisalonen4893 The security updates sound possible, but I'm not so sure about major OS updates. Often the hardware doesn't support it, or the experience isn't as good as with the older version.

When they brought the Google search to the bottom it was a good improvement. Now they took it back to the top is a good improvement. 😁😁😁 Either way I just remove it altogether.

Nice video. Being an iOS user for the last 1,5 year, I need to say that iOS design is far more cleaner and intuitive than Android 12. I do not like the so big buttons of the notification bar. It looks so old.....I prefer iOS different areas for notifications and control toggles. Google wake up and do better changes.

The grey colour of the Dark Mode could be the result of the X20 having an LCD screen as opposed to AMOLED…so the backlight affects how dark the black background gets…..

Fingers crossed we'll get Material You on Nokia devices. Otherwise I don't see a logical reason for Google to spend their time tweaking and creating new interface and design languages for them to be Pixel exclusive

Ya right. Cause such a huge revamp in themes only for phones which significantly less number of people own would be sad. They must give it to all manufacturers including Nokia Mobile. Also somewhere I read S21 users are getting a taste of Material You in some GBoard Beta version. So we can hope to get it in future builds!!!

The dark grey is from the screen on your phone. Mine is completely black on my pixel 4 xl. I have a qhd OLED smooth display. They screen doesn't mock black it literally just doesn't light up that individual pixel and gives me a perfect black.

Its not just from the screen. I can tell the difference between black and grey even on an LCD :) You can see how black looks like on this display when Im using the quick toggles menu. Compare that to the settings list.

Drak theme looks grayish and it's not completely dark because it's lcd screen. For pure full dark/black it needs to be oled/amoled.

I noticed the left phone had a crack over screen.....one of the main reasons this phone is of interest, is solid unbreakable build...how did screen become cracked? I want to buy this phone for my daughter who has broken several phones previously...is it actually more robust than other phones?

Its a micro scratch on the display which happens if you accidently stack multiple glass screens on top of each other. It feels more solid in the hand than most other phones ive tried, but I would still use it with a case just in case. Glass is still glass and it would still break if it falls at a funny angle.

Sadly the option has been removed on newer devices... It's also not on the developer preview Android 12 on the X20

I'm not excited. Because 1/3 or 1/4 of screen will still be taken by : 1) Google search bar, 2) ugly clock weather widget. Both are impossible to remove! Nokia please get rid of them? I want to choose my own stylish clock weather/widget and Google search bar isn't needed because I would use a Google icon instead and Nokia we have that Assistant button on every model can you remember that?

This is the biggest issue with using Android One. It makes Nokia phones dependent on Google for the design of the UI, and google is clueless.

what the deal with round edges of screen? are companies collecting excess pixels to sell in other products or its just a new fetish that everybody just follow blindly? by looking at screen its obvious you cant read date/time and see notifications at the extreme curve of the top. whats the point if you have less clarity?

It gives you more space to use at the bottom of the screen for useful things that are easier to access with one hand, rather than taking space for the useless search bar.

I don't like the new control center that they're adding to Android 12. It looks horrendous in my opinion. But I do like some of the auto theming options that they're having as part of the OS now.

Every phone will have different components and drivers that need to be optimized for the update. Its why even though the phones are on Android One, not all of them will get the updates quickly.

This is the beauty of Nokia devices that they receive software updates regularly and on time simply because they run on clean bloatware free Stock Android which I love the most over any rubbish Android skins out there by other manufacturers.

It's almost bloatware free. You don't get any duplicate apps for the basic functions, but on newer devices you get Netflix, Amazon, and another VPN app preinstalled.

I bought Nokia 7.2 thinking same, but it got Android 10 late and though it is guaranteed, it still didn't get Android 11, which is almost 1 year late.

5.3 just got A11 as you must know. A12 probably in May-August 2022.

Of course if HMD Global Nokia is starting to give updates quicker and maybe hire more staff to do it then it could happen quicker. A12 isn't out yet so there are no dates by any company yet by the end of the year I'm sure we will have a road map from Nokia on when to expect A12 on different models as we had for A11.

I loved my Nokia 7 Plus and my 7.2. now i have a Nokia X20. What a piece of Crep. ! 😱 OMG. Camara and WhatsApp does not work and when i tune on og Restart It deleted most of apps and other things on front screens. WTF . Hate it

That is not normal. Try to do a factory reset. If that doesn't solve all problems, then your phone is broken and you should return it where you bought it and either they fix it for free or give you a new phone. That's why we have guarantees, X20 has 3 years guarantee in Finland.
