All of the 2017 Ford vehicles with Sync 3 have Android Auto. It will be coming to the 2016 Fords with Sync 3 soon. This is a Tutorial on how to set it up and use it.

I've noticed that the volume on my Android Auto using Google Maps is WAY higher than my music playing thru my iPod. Is there anyway to adjust the volume? Once I'm connected to to my car, the Android Auto logo pretty much locks the screen and can't adjust the volume there and there isn't a volume control using the Android Auto function on my car display? Any advice?

Jason,I have a I phone 7.I also have Avic 4200nex double din receiver.The connection between receiver hdmi out of receiver to lightning cable hdmi and connected right to iPhone.The sound is solid strong.in the past when I did have sumsung and used android auto and using (USB)the audio sound was weak.i then went back to iPhone.Is there a way to connect note 8 phone via hdmi output to lightning cable or mhl cable to phone?

Is there a way to change the home screen? I don't like the navigation showing on the home screen and would like to change it if possible.

So, we just bought a used 2017 Ford Escape. I was able to use the steering wheel access to make a phone call when the map was on the screen. Then I made the mistake of upgrading to 3.0. Now the steering wheel doesn't make calls. Is this a glitch? And, is there a way to listen to music and use the steering wheel while the android auto or waze is on the screen? I don't have NAV. I'm just using the AA and the upgraded sync 3. 3.0

What if even after connecting and turning on android auto in a Chevy Spark it doesnt show the arrow and when you click the projection icon to connect it asks you a question and even after selecting ok it still doesnt pull it up the first time...what do I do to prevent this frustration?? Thanks!

Is there a way I can disable the phone call connect option and just access the phone for maps? I have uconnect and would rather use that for calls.

Does the car have to be running not in aux. ? In park? emergency brake set? I have everything set correctly I think but I never get the aggree to this page.

I watched the Android Auto video and went to the Android Auto website AND followed their link to my individual vehicle. NONE of them gave any hint or clue on how to use this. Google Android should be paying you a fee for this service!

Do Android Auto require using DATA the entire time of the drive or does it require Wi-Fi be on constantly or do both have to be on the entire drive to navigate the map?

Its just Google Maps ! 1. Before setting Android auto install Google Maps. 2. Open Google maps and click on the tree dots or hamburger menu. 3. Then click offline maps and start downloading a Map. 4. Now connect with Android auto and you can navigate find places and more even when the phone isn't connected.

I recently bought a Mitsubishi Outlander and want to upgrade the radio. I want to get one that works with SiriusXM but would also like Android Auto. What are the requirements to be able to use this app in my car? special radio etc?

When I have my phone hooked up with the USB cable and a call comes in I can answer it but they can't hear me and I can't hear them!!?? But if I unplug my phone from USB and then answer it works just fine!!?? What gives?? Why? How can I fix this??

Please help me I am now to make the decision between buying an expensive car with Sat Nav or get the cheaper trim (6k Euros difference) with Android Auto. Yes it will even play your Sirius or USB while showing the navigation screen.

Ron Vogt, next Android Auto update will use Bluetooth connectivity instead of USB cable. (I just watched the video and read your comment)

What I'd really like to do is play KZfaq videos in my car, not to watch them, but to listen to things like lectures and songs that are available there, but my research indicates that would work only when the car is in park. Have I got that right?

Hi Zeck -nice videos .I need some sugestion because i have 2 phones (Mi Note4 and Leeco Elite ) both have the same App AndroidAuto v2.9.57(unblock to developer)- and the same App -AAmirror v1.01a plus and Carstream v183- i use its -cable- in my MMI2-Audi. With Leeco AndroidAuto on car screen (w.car command) can open Carstream and view KZfaq videos, an open also AA mirror to see my phone prgs on screen car. with Xiaomi Note4 open Android Auto but it not open the Carstream nor AAMirror, why ?? can suggest me some ideias. thanks

Aux cord is for music only it will not work with that only usb cord can transfer from your device to the screen

DARN, I'm planning to buy a 2016 f150 this year, guess ill have spend a little extra for a 2017 model, lol...... I'm so glad Car Manufacturers stop dictating to us what kind of Tech Software we must have in our vehicles...... Team Android!!!!

Android auto will work in any car, just not necessarily will you be able to use the car's screen. But you can mount your phone and use all the functions from the phone's screen

It will work in any car as long as your radio supports it. I have Android Auto on a 2009 Honda Civic DX-VP.

You aren't doing anything wrong, it doesn't work in the 2017 F-150, I have a new phone and apparently the only vehicle model that it doesn't work in is the 2017 F-150!

Maps will work if you download the route in your phone that way you won't need a signal using data on your phone

tubeslats, Google Maps always works if you shut your data off, you just won't get route/detours/traffic updates. I think if you download the route it works with signal loss.

Navigation come with many vehicles that are not Android auto capable. Android auto is an interface between an Android phone/ tablet with a vehicles audio system via USB cable.

The only problem is that Sync3 v2.0 or v2.2 only works with old no-longer-sold Android phones! For example, I have Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge that Sync3 v2.0 doe NOT work with. Ditto for the new Galaxy 8 model. Be careful of Ford's propaganda. If you have a newer Android phone, Sync3, even with the latest v2.0 or v2.2 firmware will NOT allow you to run AndroidAuto on your Sync3 screen.

I got my maps/navigation to work ONCE in my 2017 focus SEL. NOTHING after that. why???? Do you need a specific USB cable? Is mine not powerful enough ? I can't get android auto to display on my screen

Make sure Android Auto is enabled in the Sync 3 settings. Also make sure you have it enabled in the Android Auto settings on your phone.

The 2017 F-150's don't need the update. It is already available on the 2017 F-150s.

Jason Hartwell but it doesn't work, I've tried everything, in the list of phones compatible, there is only two Samsung phones which are not popular models, either way I've read, watched, etc.. And cannot get it to work. I contacted Ford and they said there will be an update at some point but they don't know when. The app works, it just doesn't display on the screen....
