this video doesn't mention the limitations unless they have been updated in the last few days. i.e. you can't see your tracks, just waypoints. I want to be able to set a track before heading out and see it on my head unit to make sure I'm going down the right path. Can't do that. I would also like to set a way point from tapping on my head unit display and add details later. can't do that. I love the fact I can see maps but it's only half way there becuase I have to stop frequently and check it on my phone.

To those asking if this works with Apple Car Play, the answer is , yes it does work with Apple Car Play. I have a Bronco Sport and the latest version of this app and it works fine. You don't get all the extra info about trails that you get with the app (or online), but you do get the maps including the offline maps.

I don't see the on x app when I plug my phone in. I've tried everything. 2023 GMC. Samsung S21. Updated on x too. I've been trying every setting everywhere

That's fine and all, but when can we ADD waypoints on Android auto??? Being able to view waypoints I previously added online is such a basic feature I can't believe you guys are bragging about it. I want to be able to add waypoints on screen with a tap or two, then go back and edit them online at home.

Its under tools , add a way point. You can add everything from name to color coded to pics of view or game. Been using this feature on my phone since 2019. If it doesnt work. Use the tracking feature back to home/main vehicle, then edit start of tracking to way point if its not working. There are ways to do it.

The map disapeared on my android auto screen once I left cell service. it was still showing the downloaded offline map on my phone, but android auto was blacked out.

Yeah. It's really flaky for me. I thought offline maps would help, but no. The onx AA map sometimes goes black or shifts to 1980s poltergeist TV static when I go over a big enough bump. Which is super rare when I'm on, you know, an off road trail. Anecdotally, I have a suspicion that even putting the car on reverse, which displays the backup camera, interferes with the onx map display coming back up when I put the car back into drive. And even when the map is correctly displayed on aa, I've found that the arrow representing me will occasionally just stop moving. So I miss turns and get on trails I might not want to be on. Various sequences of force stopping the onx app on my phone and/or disconnecting/reconnecting the phone to android auto would often "reset" things and get them working for a while.

I switched to Gaia because of this months ago. Better program and works with Apple play, also half the price.

@@larrybriggs2920 I should be getting my bronco within the next week! Ford sent me an email on my special order, saying it has already shipped, and should be at the dealer sometime between the 13th and the 19th! I can barely contain my excitement! I haven’t been able to go off Roading since I was forced to trade in my JK jeep 5 years ago! not kidding, I literally choked up the day I had to let it go!
