The apps4flip mouse allows you to use any app on your android flip phone and make it work like a charm. The Kyocera DuraXV Extreme is my example for today, but other apps work amazingly with the mouse as well.

Make sure you have developer mode on (by going to settings-about phone-softwareinformation and the clicking build number 7 times) and then go to developer options (at the bottom of settings now) and turn on USB bugging. Had a headache figuring that shit out, would have been nice to had in the video..

For a very non-tech saavy person, this tutorial was great. I couldn't copy and paste like you did (it kept giving me some error), but I was able to install the apk when I saw that option a little below it. Being able to put Whatsapp on this Kyocera. wow. Game changer. It's nice to be able to text friends when they travel overseas.

I downloaded the APK via bluetooth but I can't seem to read the file off the phone. Web adb does not read the kyocera dura epic on my computer even though android transfer does, so i can't get the mouse for flip phones what should I do?

Wow we actually have a hero here still helping others with their flip phones. Kudos to you. Very informative video and lots more available info on that website you mentioned. I tried installing the apps4flip launcher, but it seems you don't need one, besides for it not working as I'm used to installing for the Kyocera Cadance and the LG exalt, LG classic flip. All you need to go is into the business section as I saw you did? As well what's my best way to modify an apk to use for my flip phone? For example I wanted to use UE Boom app to control my speaker how would I modify that app to make it compatible with my kyocera device? As well how did you get those other apps on your phone, wouldn't mind adding some of those. Curios If that f-Droid was an app store? Thanks again for the great Video!

Fdroid is an AppStore. Install apk for UE Boom and use the mouse to use it.

I have a Sonim XP3 Plus that will not sync with Verizon Message plus app. Looking to get the Dura XV so I can sync my texts between my flip phone and my tablet. I think this phone will do the job.

I managed to install the Apps4flip cursor on the Schok Flip. When I turned it on I could move it, however it didn't let me click anything. How do you fix this?

Just have a simple question. Can you use WebAdb to get the mouse to work on Sonim XP3 Plus, using another smartphone to input the commands into WebAdb so that the mouse will work on a sonim xp3 plus flip phone without needing a computer ??

I have a Kyocera Extreme. How and where do I find apps to sideload onto my phone? How do I even do that? I just need a Google Calendar and Yahoo Mail app cause the stock Email and Calendar app doesn't seem to be syncing with my accounts.

Follow the video in its entirety. Activate ADB, put the apps on the phone, and then install them.

It's too bad that whenever on scroll mode, the mouse seems to always clicks when doing scrolling on scroll mode. Is there a workaround for that?

Try a different cable. Another option is to re-enable the ADB connection

Btw the apps for flip mouse is not that good you can use the kco mouse for the Kyocera e4810 it’s better from my experience but for other flip phones like the lg classic flip etc the apps for flip is ok as it’s more complicated to allow the permissions in those devices but with the kco mouse you don’t need adb so it’s also easier to set up good luck

Yes. But hotspot wont work.

I am trying to understand this. Is it possible to download and install any android app? I have hearing aids and a great app for them to control them. I have it on my Pixel 4a phone.

Yes. Mostly every android app should work. I say most because some will not and you have to do your own testing.

Hi Jose, recently bought a flip Android 7.0 dumb phone ( gionee v16d) that has whatsApp and wechat pre installed To give you an overview - On fully booting it doesn't show the home screen ( like in other Android phones with Google services/play store) but a customized UI with a limited no of items like contacts, messages, calls, whatsApp, wechat, tools ( multimedia) and also a way to access Android systems settings that lets setup of wifi, sim, developer options etc. Was hoping I will be able to install 2 or 3 more apps I needed following yours / App4flip's guidelines. While I was able to remove wechat using adb, installing apps from app4flip's app collection fails to get installed using adb (with an error install_failed_invalid_apk). Tried using webadb, though it displays installation complete, am unable to locate it on my phone. The list of installed apps doesn't show the ones webadb declared as installed . Have you encountered something similar? Appreciate any help, thanks

They may have implemented a filter to only allow certain apk files. It’s a common strategy. Try *#777**#* or other codes to see if that unblocks it.

Have you had any experience with using the Google messages app on this phone? My Hope Is that I can do this in order to import all of my old conversations from my smartphone to my dumb phone.

Sadly if I recall correctly this phone doesn't have Google services so Google messages is not going to work.

Check a different cable. Another thing you can do is use a different browser. If all fails, use Ubuntu for adb purposes.

Not really. You need a terminal of sorts to make it work. Tablet, computer, etc.

If you can get that commandline website he mentioned on your phone's browser, it might work. Assuming the adb commands exist on the phone.

Hey bro this is an awesome video. I’m trying to use telegram on my Kyocera Dura XV extreme… but it’s difficult to send messages. I have to turn on the mouse and navigate it to the send button. Is there a way to send my messages just by clicking the green send button inside Telegram on this phone?

You might have a better chance than me to get thru to their devs. Would make telegram a killer app on Kyocera if I could hit that green send button to send the text. I’m sure it’s just a single line of code for them.

You need Google Play Services for Android Auto. No Flip device has those except for the CAT S22 and because that one has Android Go, it won't run Auto. Closest device to make it work is the Xiaomi F21 Pro.
