When I talk about Andruil (And-rool), I tend to get a lot of comments about my pronunciation on her name. While her name is based on the Lord of the Rings weapon, Andúril (Ann-droo-ill), which is pronounced different, characters in the Dragon Age series say it like I do. I have a theory Mythal has a calling like ability shown by the well of sorrows the darkspawn could be guided to the old gods perhaps the old gods are keys to keep the veil intact and the blight came from a version of the well of sorrows corrupted by the red lyrium because red lyrium is blighted what if it was the origin of the blight and tainted a version of the well of sorrows is where darkspawn came from originaly

As to how someone could make armor from the Blight. In the book The Calling, First Enchanter Remille gave the Grey Wardens the brooches to hide them from the darkspawn. They were black like blight magic and were clearly made by using it, either as an enchantment or made entirely from the taint. The limits were never explored so it's conceivable that one could make armor in the same way.

I just want to point out that "grains of light in a shaft of gold" reads very different now we've seen those new executor weapons. Willing to bet there's a connection there.

The title „Sister of the Moon“ is probably a reference to the greek goddess Artemis, goddess of the hunt, who is also associated with the moon (in contrast to her twin brother Apollo who represents the sun). It’s also likely that it’s a reference to the Fleetwood Mac song „Sister of the Moon“.

Good catch! My idea was along the lines of, well if she is Mythal's daughter and Mythal made the moon... technically she could be seen as its sister? Haha. But yours makes a lot more sense.

I play D&D in Thedas (the DA RPG was too wonky so we adapted it to 5E) and your videos on the histories of, well, everything, inspires me so much when it comes to creating content for my players. Oh! If I may ask, could you tell me the conversion you're using? I would so love to play a game in the DA universe but most of my friends don't want to get into a new system and I don't like any of the 5e conversions I've found that much, nor do I have the balancing experience to make one of my own. Thanks!

@@YoshtTheAwesome I just kinda...make it work. I find monsters that are similar to Thedas monsters, like wraiths and demons and such and use those stats. I know it's not very helpful, I just kinda...make it up. Half the fun of D&D Is making it all up anyway, and my friends haven't noticed when I am... ;) HOWEVER I will say that as fun as Thedas is to play in in a D&D aspect it is pretty limiting in terms of the rules that magic has - D&D feels more like you can accomplish ANYTHING but in Thedas there are caps to magic and such. As non helpful as my advice has been, let this be your takeaway: Do whatever you want and have fun. Make it up. ;)

It’s possible the Avvar just adopted elven stories or learnt some of their stories from spirits that saw and/or reenacted the events (as Solas says they do).

@@mikevalones9977 Well Hakkon is essentially a powerful spirit like the other Avvar gods after all isn't he? I admit I don't know a heck of alot of the Avvar outside of what I remember from DAI/JoH... but given they worship spirits I was thinking it's possible large parts of their stories and lore they may have also gotten from the spirits, which could explain them sharing similar stories to elves from before their time (if that makes sense)

I wish so much to see a complete/ish history of the deep roads . I love all the history from the whole game lol to be honest they could make an entire game of just the deep and id be in heaven. #deepexploration 😂

The Avvar believe that all caves ( deep roads ) were carved by Korth ( The mountain father ). I'm thinking there is some truth to this if Korth was a big giant ... Golem .. thing. As we have seen the Deep Roads walls, Halls, Doorways, are all way too big for dwarfs, or even humans. I'm not sure the Avvar are correct, but the Deep Roads don't make sense to originate from the dwarfs. Something is a miss.

YAY!!! Dragon age content has become my current go-to for when life is overwhelming and luckily I enjoy re-listening to stuff (I’ve heard all the party banter dozens of times) but only a few folks still make new stuff so it was a nice surprise to see this in my notifications! Love what you do here, particularly your codex compilation project!!

I missed your videos! I clicked in this one thinking I was an old one and had a pleasant surprise! Andruil is one of the Elven Gods that I really look forward to know her real story, since they hinted so many things about her in the games so far. I hope we get to know more about her in the next title.

Doesn't Thedas have two moons? If Mythal is the goddess of the moon, and Andruil is the sister to the moon, would that mean that Mythal and Andruil are the goddesses to each moon? Maybe Mythal is the goddess of the bigger moon and Andruil the smaller one.

That's a great point! It would make sense for a culture in a world with two moons to have a god for each of them. It's weird that none of the religion/myth we know so far in the series really acknowledges that there's more than one moon.

U can make the blight armor if the theory that lyrium is alive than red one is blighted one and u can make something like samson's armor also i have a theory that fade quartz is fade touched lyrium

You know, the image of a weapon of stars and light... remember the "Citadelle's ancient elven defenses" In DAI in the Citadelle Du Corbeau in the Exalted Plains? That description could match up with that pretty well.

I think the only connection between the Avaar's story about Korth and the serpent and the battle between Andruil and Mythal is that the early humans heard the tale from the elves and later adapted it to fit their own beliefs.
