Course it would solve everything. Look at our transformation under Emery, with pretty much the same group of players. Fans always blame the owners when the team isn't performing. Few years ago Arsenal fans all wanted their owners out, I haven't heard a peep of that in the last couple of years. Spurs fans have been calling for Levy out for years now, that's all gone cold the last few weeks. Employ the right manager and you'll see how quickly fans forget about the owners.

I can't believe I'm about to type this but I think Andy is talking some sense. Yes the Glazers are a problem, yes the lack of a sporting director is a problem, yes United have injuries but ultimately Ten Hag chose Antony, Ten Hag chose Mount, Ten Hag chose to loan Reguilon, but when it comes to the weekend none of them are starting, that's not because of the Glazers, or because the stadium is falling down or because the sporting director doesn't exist, it's because Ten Hag didn't pick them. He's had nearly half a billion to spend since he's took over and the squad (including the players out injured) looks worse than 2 years before he took over.

Maguire and Mctominay have been the better players the last couple of games. Mctominay isn’t good enough still but at least he makes an effort. Some of the clueless buys Ten hag has done really should be questioned, what position did he think Mount would play in, why he though Anthony was worth almost a 100mill, what was the point of Ericksen if he’s just an older Fernandez, why leave it till the very last minute to get a defensive midfielder when it was clear it was desperately needed, why he bought 2 left backs and neither of them being good enough the list is endless, bar Holjund who looks promising, its really hard to find a good buy from ten hag
@hugheskc

I completely disagree with Bent, I honestly think the United players were trying yesterday but it's just City were far far better than them and it's as simple as that, City should be given more credit for how they played in that game especially the 2nd half, United couldn't get near them it's that simple. I don't think the United players have stopped playing for ETH just quite a few of them are not good enough to play for United and ETH and the players themselves need to find a better way to play football. Poor recruitment has been Uniteds biggest problem without a doubt.
@vincentvries9854

There is nothing wrong with the recruitment. Yeah sure, the club pays Man Utd tax but other than that, all the siginings are good to great signings. Juan Mata is a great capture. Memphis Depay is a good signing. Bruno is a good buy, Bailly is good buy. Donny is good buy...etc etc, the problem is u lot stuck in glory days and wanting everything to be exactly like what Fergie did. All these signings and the coaches have to make it work, is ETH doing that? NO. So now u guys are blaming the Glazers, Mourinho, Ronaldo, De Gea and ManUtd recruitment, what next?
@Fubuki_Ambient_Lofi
@Fubuki_Ambient_Lofi 6 ай бұрын
@hugheskc Agreed. Until I saw the City game I didn't have time for this "patiently passing the ball around to keep possession" mentality. Then I saw City doing it, and the key difference is the players' movement off the ball to get a pass into some space. I would say that our main problem is a lack of creativity going forward. Our passing game and lack of movement is too predictable. We don't shoot outside the box enough and look for the rebounds etc. We don't run at defenders enough. Nothing we do creates disorder in an opponent's defense - with the exception of Garnacho particularly. By the time we have passed our way there, they have enough numbers back to smother out our passing. I would try having another forward playing off Hojlund.
@hugheskc
@hugheskc 6 ай бұрын
@@Fubuki_Ambient_Lofi Totally agree! We really need someone in the middle that can dictate the play and create openings. I think they should definitely keep ETH, I know it's been a poor start to the season but I feel once we get back the injured players, results will improve. Hopefully recruitment will improve over the next 2 to 3 windows which the manager needs and can start to implement his style of play on the team. No point to keep changing the manager, the same thing will continue to happen and the cycle starts again. I would give ETH the time at least to reassess the situation by the end of the season.

@@delby66 I never said anything about the players trying HARD, I said I thought the players were trying but were just not good enough against City. I did watch the game and anyone that did could clearly see that City were just on another level and totally played United of the park especially in the 2nd half. You do realise that City have done this to much better teams than United especially last season on their way to winning a treble. Yes some players have been guilty of not trying hard enough in other games this season but I didn't see that much of that on Sunday apart from one team being clearly superior to the other. United playing City isn't really the best measure of how good United really are at the moment when United are struggling to beat mid table teams and teams down the bottom of the league. United have spent more money than city in the last 2 years . 80 mil for Antony 70 for hojlund 60 for mount 80 for McGuire Money isn't the issue . The issue is they scout and overrate players and then proceed to over pay for them as well 😂 they genuinely need to fire everyone in the scouting department . Or at least the head scout . It makes no sense Two seasons in which they spent more money , yet they don't have a single player that's better than cities top 16 players

I’m not a Utd fan and doesn’t really bother me to see them in this state. You can’t blame the way a club is ran for your on pitch performances. The Glazers have allowed ETH to spend over 400m in 18 months. No one knows what they are trying to do on the pitch. Do they want to build through Erikson or do they want to stay solid and allow wingers and forwards to create and score goals. It is absolutely horrible to watch. Some Championship teams play better football than UTD. I don’t even see them finishing third in their group for Europa league. Also I’m 44 now and all the years of watching English football Utd dominance there is one thing I never associated with Utd and that is petulance. So much in that team. Antony is the most overrated player. 90m do me a favour. Like a child playing football. He is lazy doesn’t want to run back wants to just do silly circles cut inside and lose the ball. Fernandes is the most embarrassing captain that club has ever had. Fall over at every challenge like he has been shot. Throws his arms up in the air like a 3 year old having a tantrum. Doesn’t run back unless he just wants to try and kick somebody. Shocking representation of a Utd captain. ETH can give himself more time if he make that one decision right now. Remove him as captain yes there is no one else in that squad who starts that you would make captain. Club is a mess and they should never have got rid of De Gea. ETH has tried to hard to make it look like what he says goes hasn’t worked

I am a Manchester United fan but I think most of my fellow fanatics are delusional about the Glazers. Every manager that have come since Fergie have gotten money to spend. Most of them have wasted it including the current one. Who sign Onana, Anthony, Malacia, Mount, Amrabat, Casemiro, Martinez, Erickson, Reguilon etc. Casemiro and Amrabat are decent players but on their downside. Martinez has high potential along with Reguilon. The first 4 is lower level for United, so the manager has little clue in EPL talent.

Some managers can manage at big clubs with big ego's. Unai had his chance at Arsenal and PSG .. it didn't work. UE's methods work for certain mindset of player ... the guys at Utd get paid overs and think they've already made it before they've kicked a ball. Thats why theres minimal effort and thats not going to fly with getting a manager like him.

Let's see, it would be valid to criticize the Glazers if they hadn't spent huge money on players every year. But since Fergie left, the Glaziers have kept pace with Manchester City on player expenditures. The Glaziers have also caved in to the pressure from United supporters to sack a list of top managers, who did not yield instant results. As we can all see, Ten Haag's days are numbered. So... is it that difficult to figure out? Hell no. The poor performance over the years is mainly the fault of the entitled, yet clueless Manchester United fan base, who demand instant success before managers get a chance to rebuild. The Glaziers constantly throw money at players and managers, with no success, because the football technical minds lose their control over what happens on the pitch to the clueless, bawling social media mob.

The idea that bringing another manager in would change things is so niave. Any manager, including SAF would struggle with the circumstances ETH finds himself with. With the number of injuries that Utd have, ETH can't play the football that he wants, so he's had to adapt with the players that he has available. He said so himself at the weekend. Furthermore, he has not been able to get the players that he wanted and identified. The job that he is doing is remarkable. No other top flight manager in any of the top leagues in Europe are responsible for the identification of players and coaching of players. The other top clubs (Man City, Liverpool etc) have a director of football who agrees with the manager a way of playing and the director of football goes and brings those players in that fit that style. ETH has identified players (De Jong, Kim Min-Jae for example) and the club have not been able to execute on those transfers, leaving ETH with 4th or 5th choice players, these are desperate signings, some on loan. This club is rotten and it will take years to get back to where we need to be. I will take years of finishing 8th (like Arsenal did) to get to a style of play with the right players.

Andy has missed the point entirely. Neville's point was about the structure of the whole club, not just the stadium....and yes some of the transfers dont look like they've worked but he doesnt negotiate the transfer fees, eg if we got Antony early (when Ten Hag first said he wanted him) we could have got him for about £45M rather than £80M. Plus, in terms of this season, we've largely been missing the whole of the first choice back four. I didnt like Ten Hags lineup, tactics or subs for yesterdays game and am not saying that we'd have beat City with a first choice back four but there are mitigating circumstances for some of our performances this season. And thats before you include the situations with the so called sale of the club, and the off field issues with Antony, Sancho and Greenwood 🤦
