Andy Warhol… an artist who, his entire life, provocatively asserted that he only existed on the surface, that he was just a personality, devoid of history and emotions… Hiding behind half-truths and genuine lies, Andy Warhol chose to wear a mask all his life. Warhol's personality? He never gave anything away. It's important to realise that.
There is always an interplay between the simplicity of a painting, an utterance or an image and something far more complex which you discover little by little. In our documentary film, you will discover the story of Andrew Warhola.

Prime example of people knowing what they like... Not to mention Warhol was creating a COMPLETELY NEW GENRE OF ART. How many genres have the naysayers created? How many artists have drawn INSPIRATION from Andy? And after all, inspiration is all important in any creative endeavor... 🎩🦎🎩 P.S. God bless Andy's parents...

It is said that the icon screen from the church from Andy's childhood, described here, was not there when Andy would have been going to that church. Still, whether or not that was the direct source of the influence, it does seem like Andy's work owes something to the tradition of iconography in the Eastern churches.

Prime example of taking mundane objects, turning it into art and gaslighting people into thinking it is much more deep and complicated than it really is.

Warhol was a sick individual. His examples of being "on the spectrum" i.e., asperger's syndrome, probably more, his lack of empathy and generosity to those who were around him, all the while receiving accolades, just points to the misguided era.

Yet Warhol specified that most of his wealth be given away. He seemed to recognize the value of generosity in some way. Perhaps he was abused and traumatized.
