​Cultural note: When you had long hair in 1972, you could get your ass beat in a truck stop. That's what he was talking about.

Bob Seger is the real deal. He had been playing in local Detroit bands since 1961, and you are hearing, in this song, a man 14 yrs into a career of obscure struggle. He had seen little success outside the Detroit area, where we loved him, and this song is his account of the mental/emotional strain of the experience. This 1975 live album was very well received, but still did not translate to stardom. Check this quote out: "Yet still, Seger had a popularity imbalance. In June 1976, he was a featured performer at the Pontiac Silverdome outside Detroit in front of nearly 80,000 fans. The next night, Seger played before fewer than a thousand people in Chicago". ~ It is known When Bob finally reached the pinnacle of success in the late 70s and 80s, it was so gratifying for we fans from his hometown region, to see an amazing storyteller and artist get his due. It felt like a victory for both Bob and the city that supported him until the rest of America caught up. It is also reported that he is a good, down to earth man, who makes time for fans. in a blue collar town, that still counts for something.

Alex and Andy, how can you not call this an S? it is one of the best live songs ever by one of the best rock singers ever, backed by one of the best bands ever. That's without even getting into lyrics' poetry and imagery. No one else can invoke a mood or an emotion like Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in just a few spare notes. I'm a writer and I'm sitting here shaking my head and bereft of the words to describe what he means to an entire generation

Saw him in concert 1976. He opened for Black Sabbath. Most of us left when he was done. It was Soooo good.

"Is that a woman or a man" is a reference to the negative attitudes among the middle and working classes towards guys with long hair back in the '60s and '70s. A guy who looked like Bob Seger would have gotten the stink-eye because of his looks if he'd walked into a diner or a truck stop back then.

He paid dues for a decade before he hit big, as he's said "I've never had a tour bus because we went straight from station wagons to jets". Also worked in an auto plant, the real deal, that's why praise for fake-ass blue collar-wannabe Springsteen grinds my gears. Keep it rolling!

He's total mainstream rock n roll. Can't deny AOR radio loved him to death, he got endless airplay of a lot of his songs.

Such a great lyricist and story teller. One of the greatest lines ever written is in the Bob Seger song "Against the Wind", Seger fans already know what I'm gonna say, the line is "I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then". EVERY time I hear that line, I close eyes and shake my head not on purpose, it just kinda happens.

If you want to hear Bob Seger grit then Katmandu is your song. Guaranteed S tier.

The lyric "is that a woman or a man" relates to the long hair culture wars in the 60's and 70's. This was the common insult thrown at men with long hair. Your generation probably doesn't experience that, but you have your own battles to fight.

I've been listening to Bob for over 40 years and so far, I haven't heard him sing one number I didn't like. He's unreal.

Bob Seger was my parents favorite band of course they saw this Live Bullet. I believe they saw the band 20 plus times in several states they were so ridiculously good from start to finish.I grew up o this music heard it almost everyday along with CCR and just about every other great band in this time.I feel blessed I was able to grow up with such great music.

Riding around with my dad when I was a young child, Bob Segar and the Eagles remind me of those days, my dad used to love to play them.

Bob Seger has a boatload of great songs. Some you may have heard, some not. This will be a grand journey for you both. Enjoy!

Was lucky enough to make this concert in my home town of Detroit at Cobo Hall, downtown on the Detroit river. No sex ever left the lasting impression as that song live!! First time I seen Bob Seger was at “Notre Damn” high school on 8 Mile. They were known as the “Bob Seger System”. It cost 4 cans of soup to get in. Last school dance they ever played. They had just came out with “2 + 2 Is On My Mind”. Great song, and the rest is history!!!

Her Strut is a guttural classic Rock song with unbelievable guitar licks. My volume 11 when I listen to it!!

The "Silver Bullet Band" is one of the best backing bands that was ever in the business. Caught them live for the "Against The Wind" tour and man, BLOWN away.

"Main Street" is my favorite one.

In 1975, on my 21st birthday a bunch of us went to an outdoor concert up in Seattle. There were a lot of acts, including Bachman Turner Overdrive and Little River Band. One of the bands couldn't make it because the singer was sick (Flash Cadillac). So at the last minute a completely unknown band replaced them - Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band! They knocked us out! I've been a fan ever since.

RIP Alto Reed from The Silver Bullet Band, Seger's looooong-time sax player and friend, heard on this and many other greats.

My favorite Bob S song. Guys your going to love him. Other great songs “Like a Rock,” was used in Chevy Truck commercials. Bob gave the song to them for them to use. Ol Time Rock & Roll” was used in the movie “Risky Business” probably have heard both of these.✨Then “Night Moves,” Still the Same” Against the Wind” I don’t think he has a bad song. Love your reaction...Bob Seger is both an amazing storyteller and (as you'll find out), a kick-ass rock 'n roller. Early rockers you'll love are Katmandu, Get out of Denver, Rambling Gambling Man, and The Fire Down Below. But his ballads are also brilliant...Night Moves, Main Street, Against the Wind, etc. Lots of lots of great stuff...Enjoy!

Back for a Bob fix. For those who've heard the studio version, you know the live version is the shit. They honed and built this masterpiece from the raw bones of the studio version. And what an evolutioni it was. I've been a Bob Seger fan all my life. He may be getting old like all of us, but his music stands the test of time. Turn the Page was always a favorite. This, in my mind, is a nearly perfect song. That it's recorded live only makes it that much more impressive. The way it builds with every verse and his wail of "ON THE ROAD AGAIN" near the end sends chills down my spine to this day. One of the biggest regrets of my life was not going to see them live in Kansas City when I had the chance at the top of their game.

Bob Seger is the man! “Turn the Page” is probably one of the best songs I think I’ve ever heard.
