Don’t ride these at danbury!! It ruins the trails and it’s not allowed. Great way of getting the place flattened and ruining it for all the MTB riders that have been riding and working hard building trails there for years!

Not a good idea to ride them at Danbury it’s a sure fire way to get it shut down it’s just about staying open for mountain bikes let alone if ppl turn up on motorbikes

Stop riding illegal bikes on our MTB trails. Keep them to official motorbike tracks. So dangerous and you feel it's ok that you can ride these in a public park where I walk my dogs and children. If you crashed into one of us I'm sure you wouldn't have insurance to cover it.

Brilliant!! top tip when using the bikes off road slacken the bar levers just half a turn on the bar, saved me a fortune in levers off roading over the years as they spin out of the way when you hit the ground.

Sure fire way to ruin a local mtb spot that is already on thin ice with the locals and the relevant authorities. Maybe you didn't realise this at the time but those bikes are not welcome there at all . Your KZfaq video could cause a lot of ahit for that local spot and even get it bulldozed. What would be great for local mtb community would be if you deleted this video before anyone else thought that this was a good idea and copied you

Slow clap for Andy Kirby. Riding electric pit bikes over Danbury is a sure way to get the trails shut down. The residents are already pissed off with people riding there. You and your mates turning up to make a KZfaq video on pit bikes will be the final straw. Come back on a mountain bike bike and please ride those pit bikes somewhere else

Great content! What kind of amps do those setups draw at 10kw? Do you have the RPM spec's? I'm currently on 3 120v mower bats and a kelly controller with a 3000w 72v motor. It seems gutless much over 5k but pulls to 8krpm. also doesn't pull more than 75a with 3 40a rated packs. Changing the garing form factory makes is slower. Currently at 45mph with 11/80t gearing.

So much potential for these DIY e-pit bikes. Good job I'm so tempted to do similar. I know exactly what hardware I would be changing first that would make the rider experience better. Good work!. Also that chain needs attention before it comes off and causes a problem worse still damage bike or ankle. Sounds dry and loose to me ?

Looks loads of fun but the trails at Danbury are not the place to ride electric motorbikes. The trails are under threat and motorbikes using them will just reinforce the case for closing the trails down.

Please don't ride these bikes over Danbury. We have enough issues keeping the site open. It's meant for mountain biking, not these kinds of motorbikes.

And you are so right about it being addictive.... I can do up to 35mph right now, I can't get enough, and it's scary when I get to 40mph downhill, I definitely need a helmet. LoL I'm super excited about trying to get a new controller and battery.... I'm already fast but the 72v 3000w kit is supposed to be a whole new level. 😁

Anyone riding a bike and not keeping at least 1 finger on the brakes no matter what, is just not a smart person at all. And a bad rider. And not just a danger to yourself bu also to others ;) Nice vid , they're really cool, tried to build something like this many years ago but never finished the project and moved afterwards. I have similar terrain in my little town.... The main roads are obviously the town but behind the town and across the railway tracks there's a part the city used as storage (but not anymore) and it's now a huge playground that I have full access too. I go back there and build balanced rock sculptures and stuff but I also have a couple hillclimbs and ALOT of fun stuff to ride on.... I'm so lucky the cops around here like me so much. 😁

Yup I started trail riding when I was 26 years old and I thought I was brave doing quite big jumps and drop ins down some really steep slopes, we had all the gear and the best bikes, then we would bump in to a group of 14 year old lads on BMX bikes with no gear doing seat grabs and superman, tail whips the full set just massive jumps on bikes with no brakes or suspension, kids have no fear, once you get older with a mortgage to pay and you know how long things take to heal you become way more risk averse! ha ha

What kind of amp hours are you running on the 72? Thinking of doing my own, but for the sake of down time was wondering if using quick swap batteries like for cobalt 80 volt lawn tools maybe 2 in parallel and just getting a pile to swap out and keep going.

Do it! 😎 We are running about 120A battery current and 150A phase current. It's stressing the standard battery like hell but we are seeing how long it lasts... om all.honesty I thought the BMS would have blown by now! he's ordered some lipos already.

It was about 13 degrees that day, I all honesty I think it will be fine. Just gotta be mindful and don't rag it hard for long extended periods. It would be better without the side panels on for a bit of airflow.

@@andykirby I know lol I see you video with the mods, think I might get one after I've finished my ebike, still need 100 more 25r 2500mah to upgrade my battery because the current version is to unpredictable (20s 10p) 25ah 72v is my goal with 180A constant discharge 500A max (300A bms) + a new 200A - 300A controller that I've yet to find (any recommendations?) my bike looks nice as an angel/ like an 85cc monkey bike

Andy Why don’t u both get sur Ron’s with a new battery and Bac 8000 controller ? This would pull off the line quicker than any others ebike and also would have a top speed of around 80 mph

No, Steve's was but mine was on ebay. Both have had their heart and soul ripped out. They don't have anywhere near this power as standard. In fact they barely move 😅

What ah rating is that battery and what sort of range can you get running 10kw??

It's a 9Ah 72V battery made of Samsung 21700 30T cells. Loads of power, small light pack that can be charged quick. 10kw on this bike might only happen for a split second. The average power is more like 2-3kw.

@@andykirby not bad, I'm running a 4ah 36v from two ryobi batteries so it puts outs amps no problem and I run it through at dc dc converter to boost it to 84v to get 4000w peak and I get 4 to 5 mile range
