You have talked before about value studies. I would do them with pencil sketches but for some reason I think I can just jump into a watercolor painting. (Silly me!) Thank you for the reminder and keep reminding! It makes the actual painting sooo much easier!

Understanding and using value properly is a weakness I currently have... I'm still trying to figure it out. I think I need to spend some time trying some value studies. I have ben watching Poppy B., she is a pro-level plein aire artist and she always seems to do a full-size value study before she does her painting - even being plein aire. I definitely think I need to try it some more. :D Thanks for including this 2nd info class.

I see you manage without a large mixing area. Do you think it matters whether or not a palette has large mixing wells if not painting larger than A4?
