When you loved Billie all your life and then you watch a tiny girl that makes you believe there might actually be reincarnation. It is no surprise you end up listening to her every day for 8 years and realise she is musically empathetic embodying the emotion of every song whilst staying instantly recognisable and yet she will capture a tone or phrasing that evokes the origional artist. Unique and addictive.

So true that Angelina does really get lost in the music.Sometimes you see her eyes sort of roll back.Which is a great thing for us, as it makes her so relaxing to watch, imo.She does not rush, has no nerves and her being so relaxed and in control, but not at all overdone or forced, makes for a very pleasurable performance each time.

She actually sang quite a lot more than this on the day. For some reason, this particular clip edits out nearly a minute, which includes the bridge of the song. This was an intermediate round to weed out the one-trick ponies, so I'm fairly sure she wasn't required to do the whole song. But no, I wouldn't have stopped her either. As you've probably seen, she reprises it at 11 years old for her debut album.

Angelina sings a capella here for a prolonged period of time and keeps on pitch and tempo throughout. Billie’s song was a little short as well. They put Angelina’s singing to the original tape and she was spot on. It is like she has it on a tape running in her head, I made up the term that she has a phonographical memory :-) Chronological is awesome, any other order is great as well. You can also take the chronological order by leaps and bounds. Main thing is to enjoy yourself and not make it feel like a chore :-)

Do you have any semblance of an idea as to how this 7 year old Norwegian girl, who may have just turned 8 for this performance, is able to do a completely, intricate lyric song in total a'capella. No musical assistance, just flat out singing by herself, which is what the rules of NGT demanded if you weren't playing an instrument. I doubt the vast majority of A-List singers couldn't do it.

The chronological path is great but she has such a large catalog of performances over the last 10 years, it will take you a year or more. She is releasing an original single this month (Apr 2023) from her up-coming album scheduled for release this fall. She graduates HS this spring fulfilling her family's request from Republic Records to hold off promoting her until she graduates. She is about to explode in popularity with a planned global promotion beginning in the US & then to Europe. You might want to get recommendations from fans for 2-3 of the best ones for each year. Whatever you do I'll be watching.

The version, in studio age 11, is a masterpiece. Also, she does it in one take. Listen to the Billie Holiday version just before AJ's and you will truly see what a child prodigy is.

So many times I've heard "she's so cute" and the like only to be followed by a stunned response, AJ scores again. She learned jazz as she was learning to speak, I believe it is, literally, one of her native tongues. Her emotional and musical intelligence along with a great voice just add to the amazing level of what she can do. Have never heard of anyone that can take on songs from so many genres and produce such a high level of performance every time. Like so many have said "it just isn't fair", but that is life and we are all blessed by what she gives us.

Even at this age, she has an understanding of what the song needs-and she has the ability to fit her voice and delivery to that song. Her first two audition songs on Norways Got Talent were Angelina channeling Billie Holiday. But her final two songs are all Angelina. Yes, she has listened, even at this age, to the great jazz and blues singers and she has learned. "After thought". What an appropriate statement to make after an Angelina performance. The innocent beauty of a child, a voice so deep in depth it defies logic, the poise and confidence she exhibited singing a cappella to a famous jazz classic, her artistic awareness at such an early age, her humbleness at the end when she simply said, "Thank you." Continuing, she speaks English very well when she is singing (not her primary language), her courage was on full display and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, her connection to each single member of the audience and anyone else involved in the broadcast at the studio or people watching on TV. Did I just describe a seasoned artist, someone around for many years? No. I described a very young child who loves to sing and she enjoys singing 'for us'. Yes, the love contained within her comes out when she she sings and it touches our hearts. "After thought?" Indeed.

If you continue to go chronologically through her songs you can't go wrong. From month to month AJ grows by years and years. Each song, in these ealy years, is a new revelation. She is known as the girl with a thousand voices for a good reason. By age ten she is a seasoned pro. Ten to thirteen she masters covers in just about every genre. Thirteen to sixteen she turns into a song thief, owning every cover better than the original artists. Along the way she penned 5 great original songs and does several written for her. Today at 17 she is ready to go supernova, with her first album for Republic coming out this year. Soon you may be not able to not hear her. 😊❤ So be the last to be able to slowly savor the growth of this talented young artist. It is fascinating as a musician to watch.

I have listened to all these early performances, NGT and others, umpteen times and always enjoy them almost as much as the first time when I get to be blown away. There's a special type of joy with Angelina, hearing/seeing her perform a new/old song the first time. I envy the pleasure you will find as you journey through her archives, but thank you for documenting your reactions along the way. It's not the same as my own first time, but it's close enough. The fact that she stayed on pitch as to how this song was originally sung at such a young age and she also had a fever of 102 and her parents didn’t want her to go on but she assured them she could get through it her shot to get on the talent show. If you notice in the video how rosy her cheeks are, amazingly, talented and brave.❤️💯

Another reactor chose to watch chronology one per year from age 8 to 17 and then start again from age 8 again. (I would suggest finishing the NGT competition before jumping forward.) This would let you see her development to present day faster than 3-4 years from now at 1-per-week.

Although chronological order is certainly the way to go if you wish to chart Angelina's incredible improvements with every song she sings, but it does have some downsides. The major one is the fact that she has uploaded so many videos to KZfaq. Rusty Shackleford has a list of every song on his KZfaq channel.
