One of Angelina best cover ever the Jazzi raspi feeling and emotions in her voice is out of this world and much better als Rihana’s Version sorry Rihana 😢😢amazingly beautiful brilliant unbelievable magical emotional old soul voice!!! I'd love to see your reaction to the live version of her Whitney Houston cover. This vocal performance always stuns me in its absolute beauty. Not just her perfect, PER-FECT pitch, and her incredible, smooth runs, but the feeling she puts into every word of the lyrics goes straight to my heart and gives me chills every time, and tears on occasion. Grateful tears.

Rhianna had a huge hit with this song, but compare her professionally produced rendition with this casual 'at home' session Angelina is singing for the first time and, to me, AJ's emotion laden penetration goes far deeper than Rhianna's version. Rhianna is great, but there is no way a non-jazz singer could ever hope to match the depth of penetration to the human soul that a true jazz specialist like Angelina is able to do.

Rihanna made a wonderful song and it was well and highly produced. When she sang it, it was a song of hope: you sort of knew that the other would come back and that there would be a happy end. Angelina indeed slowed it down and stripped it down. This made me hear the lyrics a lot better. I don’t think she changed the lyrics around in this case. What she also did, was changing the story in a way: she puts in a lot of melancholy and that with the stripped down and slowed down arrangement, gives it a certain despair and sadness. To me she is asking the other to stay but already knows it is hopeless.

Sometimes when a song is stripped down to the basics is gives the illusion of being slowed down, however this was the same tempo as the original.

@@pietersbart Maybe you need to listen to the original again. Just count the beats for ten seconds then multiply by six. I count 114 beats per minute for both versions.

@@todradmaker4297 the original is at 117 (I have the score, where it says that), hers is at 85-90 as I have put the metronome to it

@@pietersbart Maybe the confusion is coming from the different vocal phrasing between these versions which is the essential difference between the two. But if you focus on the accomplishment of the quarter notes of the guitar and piano you'll see that they are very nearly the same tempo.
