Huge Thank you. I was up in the wee hours of the morning working on a project. I wanted/needed to put a perforated line on my project. I tried for about 45 min...read the Cricut help info and also looked at my copy of Cricut Playbook. Nothing helped then I found this video and I was off and running in minutes. Great video lots of helpful and detailed info. Now I am off to watch your video on scoring. TY

Angie Holden ...yes. Thank you for the detailed vids. I am completely new to cricut (actually don’t even have the machine yet) so you are the perfect person to ask about this. You mentioned making a puzzle for the kids using the kraft foam. So that made me wonder about actual puzzles made from a cardstock almost like a real puzzle. I was thinking maybe printing a wedding photo and gluing to cardstock, then cutting it into a puzzle. What sort of blade would be good for that project? Or maybe you have an even better way to make this project instead of gluing? Thanks again!

Hi Angie :) As always a great very helpful and informative tutorial... I always enjoy your videos :) I would love to see you do a project with this perforation tool for a kids project... would be great to see you using the craft foam, for maybe dolls or a puzzle :) I want to outline a picture, but not cut out the pieces, but be able to tear out piece by piece as I need to the reason being I want to make a sand art picture, and it needs to pull out seperate pieces to the picture, and replace the spaces with coloured sands.... just wondered if it can be done.... I havent got the perforation blade else I would try it myself lol.... thank you for sharing all your wonderful how to videos enjoy them all and are a big help to me :) have a nice day, stay safe and well :) magz (Australia)

Hi Angie! I am having the hardest time to get the perforated blade to cut card stock. The blade is new and I have tried different materials with more pressure with very little success. Do you have any other suggestions?
@AngieHolden

Hmmm. I am not sure what it wouldn't cut. Now it doesn't cut all the way through. Just enough to tear it.

Please, make another one with some ideas on where to use it. I have hard time coming up with the ideas for this blade. I guess same can be achieved by using a knife but then if will take a while to program this in the Cricut Design. A part from custom sealed envelope or box with "easy to open" tear tag or some vouchers (as you already mentioned) I don't see any real use for it.

Angie... I was thinking of making a kids puzzle using the foam in your video. Do you think the perf. Blade would cut curves for big puzzle pieces or would it be better to use the fine point blade on foam. I'm using a maker.
@AngieHolden
@AngieHolden 3 жыл бұрын
I like the rotary blade for foam! I find the other blades leave a jagged edge a lot of times! The perf would work but you would still have a little bit of a jagged edge after separating it.

Hey Angie, this video is very helpful however how do I do this if I only want to perforate an already printed project and not have it cut as well if that makes sense?

That is going to be hard to get located on the Cricut mat. You can play with it and try to figure out the correct location.

This is a great video. Have you ever had your perforating tool NOT actually perforate? I did a cut yesterday and it worked perfectly. Then every one I tried afterwards only put an indentation in the paper (more like a scoring tool). I'm using very hard cardstock for a gatefold invitation and I need a very distinct line for the folds, but since it's not perforating correctly, I'm at a loss. :-(
@AngieHolden
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
I have not. Maybe it is the paper?
@playtone229
@playtone229 Жыл бұрын
@@AngieHolden I would think that if it hadn't worked on the same paper first. Now it won't work at all. I worked with Cricut and not it's even worse. :-( It's literally putting the slightest impression on the paper - less than what a score line does.
@AngieHolden

I would make sure the blade is installed correctly and restart your machine and computer.
@joeybold4575

What about using it to make folds? For instance, if I wanted to make a little “cardboard box” and I wanted to put the fold lines in it so I can ship it flat, and the person receiving it can bend the box into shape and glue it to make a little box? Would this work for something like that or is there a better tool for that?
@AngieHolden
@AngieHolden 4 жыл бұрын
For that, use the scoring wheel or stylus. You can find a video on those here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q9mba5py0t3Pepc.html&lc=UgzLSrmryF8TTMpFs0F4AaABAg

Can I use this for vinyl? If I cut out vinyl labels and apply transfer tape, is it possible to then perforate between my vinyl labels so a sheet of vinyl labels can be sold as a whole that can be torn away before applying? Hopefully this makes sense. Wondering if it would work and if so, what pressure setting would I use?
@AngieHolden
@AngieHolden 3 жыл бұрын
I don't think the tear would be clean on vinyl. I think the vinyl would stretch instead of tear if that makes any sense at all.
