I would like to see the FAA began to require AOA on new aircraft and make them a primary flight instrument during low speed phases of flight in place of the current antiquated stall horns that provide nearly a binary indication rather than a wide range analog indication. Time to leave the 1960s and get modern to begin to get a handle on stall related accidents.

The only reason they are not standard equipment on small GA aircraft has nothing to do with the FAA. Like every other piece of outdated tech in these aircraft, it comes back to cost. Need to severely reduce liability first.

@@WhallonJesse That’s not correct. Who controls certification and registration of new aircraft designs and newly manufactured airplanes?
