The dice by Andrew were so on brand for shooting. Tons of 6’s on In The Ways, tons of 1’s to Wound. Then, BOOM! Combat starts and it completely flips!

How angmar didn’t just swamp them astounds me. Gully waiting a few turns and then getting flash killed is crazy.

How was I to swamp them? I marched twice and had to contend with woods :) It was a perfect storm for the dang rangers! -S

@@NowForWrathGaming Same issue I have with Angmar. With Gully being such easy cannon fodder now i have moved over to more of a swarm of orcs which then justifies the price of the shade even more. However, its hard to write an Angmar list because almost every hero feels like a must take!

@@ThirdAgeWargaming Yeah, Angmar is ridiculous in its choice, but I DO think it's easy to fall into the trap and then lose focus! I'll have to try a horde of orcs... maybe with TWO shades...

@@NowForWrathGaming I like the idea of two shades but a shade and two barrow wights seems to discourage the opponant from churning you up with heroes more effectively. If only shade debuffs stacked!

Those rangers being 30pts each is just crazy. Love to see them play but never seems competitive. Their might gets used in the first round usually just to kill one enemy. Then they’re just squishy

Yeah 30 points is a bit rough. But with 29 might plus a free one every turn, spending a might to get a kill doesn't feel so bad. I just wish they were F5, really. I don't think they'd be great, but at least they'd feel like they were worth a shot at a tournament. As it is, I can't imagine facing elves or DE with them and being horribly outnumbered AND outfought. -Andrew

When I was running the numbers in my head... I figured 23 bow shots with a heroic accuracy had a very very good chance of killing Gulavhar in one round of shooting. Just couldn't risk it... but in hindsight probably just should have! -Steven

Hi there, great battlerep. Just have one question. With the errate from Feb '24 monsters with the fly special rule don't have in-the-ways (if not engaged). So Gully should have been targeted earlier. Am i right or am i missing somethin?

Hey, so he does still get in-the-ways for terrain/buildings, but also you still have to have line of sight to him and I rarely did because of that one dwarf building he was behind. Wings and tails don't count, so I could pretty much never see him. I was ready and waiting and he knew that a turn of shooting probably meant a dead Gully haha. I thought if you had a penalty to you duel roll (such as 2 handed, banner, shade) then you were effectively capped at 5? But you guys are mighting up to 6, so I assume I was mistaken.

Yep you can might back up to a 6. Same for two handing.

I love The Grey Company so much. That 6" Fearless banner should just make Dead March Spectres irrelevant.

Me too! I want them to be good so bad. I think they're a blast to play, especially after Steve had the great "put bands on them to represent spent might" idea, so the tedium is gone. And yeah, that banner helped a good bit! A compel or two on Halbarad helped a little, but it still worked out.

@NowForWrathGaming if you name then all, it's easier to track! I'll name my next to after you lads! The Rangers have been done dirty though. Should be F5, elven cloaks, longbow, and 2 attacks as standard.

@@NowForWrathGaming aye, Andrew did more with his shooting than causing wounds ;) the fear factor is real, I lost a couple tournament games from being scared of shooting and got shot to shit anyway 😭
