@CheetoPuffGangsta yes they’re a historical team who had great success in the past, so the fans were very unhappy at the players and management and tried to attack them when they got relegated. It was clearly directed at their players.

These aren't real fans. My team also got relegated last season after 20+ years in the top flight, in the exact same way. The supporters were standing and supporting them after the final whistle, trying to cheer up the crying players. THAT's real fans. Can't support them when they lose? Don't support them when they win.

Sorry, I get ur point and I think its wrong that they went on the pitch. Really awful scenes. But saying "they are not real fans" is bs. They do support their team. These are the people that would still support them in 4th division. They care more about the club than any player ever will. Its wrong saying they are not true fans or hooligans or bs like that even tho what they did here is absolutely not acceptable

TBF, it is. There are multiple cities in both the USA and Canada which have gone through similar outbursts of violence over the outcomes of sport games. The 2023 Eagle fans and 2011 Canuck fans are a few specific examples, but cities like Boston, Chicago, and Detroit have riots like these basically any time one of their teams either wins or loses a championship.

Saint Etienne used to be a really big french club, like Lyon were or Marseille were, and to the fans them being relegated is as crazy as if a club like Atletico Madrid got relegated, they weren't used to this and got angry. All cool people saying their club wouldn't act like this is a lie, as they don't know, and any big club that gets relegated could have many angry fans.
