This is how the calico cat is with her kittens. The grandma and daughter both had a litter, so the grandma is super protective and hisses when we put the food down and accidentally walk near the kittens. The daughter is more friendly. She likes to walk up to our door or lays near us and doesn't mind us walking near her or putting food in front of her, and she sniffs my hand through the screen door. I don't dare try to pet for obvious reasons, but I'm glad that the neighbors and my family feeds them, because they're so adorable. I would like to adopt one, but that's like 12 (because they both had two litters, but the recent litter in the youngest, the older litter are like preteens now), and I don't pay the bills in my already big family, so we just feed them and give them milk and water.

@@arun37625 Wonder how many days it took to get the moms trust. Normally a feral cat would be gone before letting anyone near it. One of my 4 cats was like this and it took 7 months to gain it's trust. Cat turned from dangerous to friendly where it lets everyone pick her up now. 9 years ago my daughter carried it like a rag doll to bed, the look in its eyes, save me lol. Her cat stays with her like a guard dog at night and never realized how much of a guard dog they can be till 5 years ago when someone pried the AC flap open to try opening back door which is heavily reinforced. Woke to a commotion before the alarm was set off to find her cat trying to exit through the AC flap and some blood on the wall. Removed the AC in morning and reinforced the windows plus purchased portable AC units that did not require an open window, and vents through our chimney instead.

@@kamilkaya5367 Well, sadly they need actually. Yes, we Turkish people always try to help and feed stray cats and dogs but they eventually dying because of dieseases or cold or sth. else. We need to stop feeding them on streets and try to give shelter all of them, but I don't think we can do this anymore.

She was probably starving. They are stray so they will have a rough life. Most of the time they die because they weaken if they can't find a colony, specially if having babies, which is exhausting for the mother. She trusted him and allowed her kittens close because he literally saved her life and she can't be any angry. She had a good time eating.

I rescused a feral one week old kitten from a feral mother who'd dumped him in my garage while spiriting away the other three larger ones. He was the runt. He's 8 weeks now, has gained good weight, and is disease and parasite free. He's also smart as a whip and loves to play and cuddle. He's all black with a little grey on the rough. Mom was casing my yard for food (I feed and water her, since she's still caring for other three), and she caught a glimpse of my rescue kitty through the window. She threw a fit, hissing, yowling and spitting at me, but my kitten seems to prefer where he is now. Mom needs to get trapped and spayed, but I can tell she'll never socialize, although since that incident, she is a little friendlier. Now she waits on the porch for her food and water, I bring it out, she phones in a hiss, and I hiss back, and go back inside. She has no problem scratching at the door and yowling if breakfast is late, however. I'm going to put up a warm shelter for her for the winter.

My cat was a street cat and looked like mama cat except a boy the shelter spaded his mama and neutered my boy and his other siblings then he was shipped to a location in new Hampshire and now we got him so veternerians do kind things on their time this is so neat to see the whole family eating together if this was South Carolina about 2 years it could be my cats early life 🐈👍

@TranDinhKein I agree you shouldn’t feed them but I think when u see a stray cat with kittens call ur local animal recuses to collect the mom and her kitten and have them spade or neutered and if the kittens and mom are non-feral try looking for home for them that I did when I found a mom and her kitten under my deck luckily the mom wasn’t feral at all so everyone got a forever home but if the mom is too feral for that sparring her will stop her from having more kittens in the future on the streets

@Kutalion Hot ever heard of spay and neuter? Ofc this need a lot of reasource and people to control cats(and other animals) population. If one city can work together to spay and neuter some animals to control their population it wouldn't cause much of a problem. And others should follow Sad thing not all ppl are like that.

Colin Hayes-Freeman I feed stay cats my grandpa took them to the ASPCA and they told my grandpa not to feed them i can’t feed my cats and not feed the other cats so my grandpa brought them back to the ranch

You need to say "eeearrr" to it/them in a slightly high pitched voice and rub your fingers together low to the ground at them and the cat will become curious to you and you must let it know you're not a threat, animals can sense tension and poise in your posture. When you relax they relax. I grew up with cats I know exactly how to treat them and earn their trust. Don't stare at them in the eyes all the time it's an act of aggression in the animal world. Pretend they are not there even and they will come to you and be quiet animals don't like noise.

I do go spss spss spss to them as well. In general a higher register or tone is more inviting to cats and other animals I find. If you have a deep voice they are less warming to u. This is just in my experience in life with cats and other animals and my mother used to work on farms with animals.

I remember when we moved to our new house, we found three stray kittens in front of the house. They were about two or three weeks old. They used to hiss everytime we trying to feed them, but now they're so friendly and grow well.

I feel sad for homeless cats, it makes me think of my own cat and what would happen to her if she’s not with me. I don’t want for any dogs or cats to be hungry. That’s why when I see cats in the streets I feed them. They are all precious. 😞

I have found my self one Christmas night riding home from work and had all these little under weight feral kittens run to me with mother and Aunty in toe, altogether there were 10 or 12 cats I fed for a month, however a lady was responsible for 2 of the mothers but wanted them to just die by not feedi them, I reported her and I took the one kitten she wanted dead the most. I absolutely love this cat, her name is Motzie. It took a year for her to feel she didn’t need to be on her guard. She sleeps with me every night. Thank you for being so respectful to the strays you come across.

I fed a pregnant skinny cat once. Tried to gave her as much as she could take. The day after giving birth (I did not intend to keep her) she appeared at my door with a crying day-old kitten. Opened the door and she let herself in and left the kitten outside. We brought the kitten inside. Took an hour to fetch two more kittens and we ended fetching the last two. Kittens grew healthy and were adopted from 12-16 weeks. One each week so mother cat wouldn't get stressed (she did not) One year later, she lives here and rules the place.
