The Anime did Adam Smasher so much more justice, it really showed how terrifying and formidable he really is, i wouldn't want him after me that's for sure, loved the scene where you see what he looks like in Cyberspace and how he truly sees himself as a monster and how he never went Cyberpsycho, he's fully turned himself Chrome.

It also promotes V by proxy. V takes Adam Smasher down pretty consistently in the end game despite you know being on the verge of near death.

It was originally a tabletop RPG. If the GM puts Adam Smasher into a fight, you did something to REALLY piss them off.

It was so shocking/sad but at the same time great/realistic when there is the final fight and you think maybe Daivd got a chance, maybe at least he can put a up a fight... but no, he is just outclassed, his sacrifice gives the time for Lucy to escape but its so little time, he barely can do anything.
@piotrkowalski3869

Its like CDPR failed to explain why Smasher got so weak by the end of CP2077. The reason is simple he was more focused on keeping his mind in his final confrontation with V than on the actual fight. Cyber psychosis was kicking in full gear. It was poorly indicated by how his dialogue was more and more degraded throughout the battle. We killing him was meant to be an act of mercy more than simply delineating a final bitch-slap. That part was scripted so badly it makes me think the good writers bailed right before the got to writing it.

The part where David is hallucinating and talking to his mom about going to the top of Arasaka Tower, followed by the cut back to Rebecca realizing that she can't save him and the only thing she can do is try to be there for him in his final hour is absolutely heartbreaking, but so well done. It makes me feel so many different emotions all at once, and it is such an interesting duality of sadness because you know how this story must end, but you still have that hope that they can pull this off somehow. I have seen the show 4 times now, and I still hold out hope that somehow they will make it out of there.

If your measure of a Marine is whether or not you've seen combat you aren't one, have never been yourself and your opinion on the matter doesn't mean one single thing. Point was you can be a disciplined, mentally and physically strong male and have feelings. Nice try at deflecting into an insult though.

I recommend watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It's kinda like the Fight Club of anime. And it's the show that put the showmakers of Edgerunners on the map and is actually a bit better than Edgerunners in almost every possible way. It's a show that kinda shows what Edgerunners could've been if it had 27 episodes instead of only 10.

For me, I kinda want Edgerunners to be an anthology series like True Detective or American Horror Story or Final Fantasy or Persona: where each season tells a different story with a different cast of characters.

That song still evokes sadness every time I hear it even a year after the show, it just hits a certain note that just hurts. It almost feels intentional that it is splashed into this video so much, Joe why you do this to us?!

@@JuicedOnKidsit’s expected if you’re already a fan of Cyberpunk. As someone who played the video game, read the Fire Storm books and comic books, I’m not surprised by how the anime ended. I can definitely see how new fans didn’t expect the ending but to each their own I guess.

Hearing “I Really Want to Stay at Your House” in Cyberpunk hits different after watching Edgerunners. It still surprises me how they managed to get Giancarlo Esposito to be a part of it & also that the English voice of David is Tanjiro from Demon Slayer.

It pulled an upset in the Crunchyroll awards by winning Anime of the Year, and rightfully so. It was absolutely fantastic, glad you enjoyed it so much. I think this story itself is good to leave as is, but something new in the world done by Studio Trigger would be great to see.

David as a character falls off hard. He is constantly reminded about the effects of Cyberpsychosis and the concerns from his friends and the people he loves and still decides to mod himself to the point of self destruction. Lucy wouldn't have gotten caught in the first place had he not chromed up so hard. Maine warned him as well. He just didn't give a fuck. This straight A student missed the biggest no brainer choices and it ended up putting people in danger as well as himself. At the top of arasaka tower he explains that he wanted to live by his mothers dream and maines...but I doubt they wanted him to chrome up that much. Even Maine told him "you still have a chance"...implying not to fuck it up...what did David do 7 MONTHS after maine died? Before Maine died he was shorter than Lucy...NOW hes a ful 2 FT taller??? cuz of implants? worst character development possible.
