I just finished watching the first season last night. An example of something I really hate in storytelling - In her arrogance, Jade brings a zombie on board The University. Of course the thing gets loose and winds up killing her pregnant lab partner (best friend?.) We will never hear about this again. She should carry the guilt and shame of that mistake for a long time. It could easily be a major factor in her future development. But nope; it will be like it never happened.

It sucks that we're living in an age where critics give points for things being shot in a competent way or having actors who don't suck. TV has been around for almost a hundred years...both of those things should be as standard now.

This show made me appreciate the garbage that are the Paul Anderson Resident Evil films. They are actually good in comparison to this show. Edit: To everyone losing their marbles: It’s all complete garbage but in my humble opinion the movies are now more watch-able garbage that this show. That is my point. I’m not giving the films a pass either THEY ARE STILL GARBAGE.

not only does jade know before the party, but billie knows as well. She literally ASKS jade how much time is left on the timer and decides if shes gonna die she wants to go to a party. There is a scene before the party scene where billie demands jade tell her what's going on in regards to her sickness. So they both knew she might rampage. One of many totally stupid decisions made by every person in this show.

I’ve been watching “The Strain”, the Guillermo del Toro vampire show from like 8 years ago. I only saw like maybe the first season of it at the time, so I’ve been going back to watch the whole thing. It’s a much better Resident Evil series than this or any of the movies. I know it has nothing to do with Resident Evil, but it feels like what a Resident Evil series should be. It’s got an evil corporation causing a monster-based apocalypse in a city, a small band of survivors that know the truth who are trying to stop it, appropriately escalating stakes as the city gets more and more overrun. It’s pretty much the blueprint for Resident Evil. Change the corporation to Umbrella, the vampires to zombies, and New York to Raccoon and there’s your show.

"You should have brought more." The Milla movies largely suck, but Wesker *was* great in that scene. So cool. If only the movies had focused on the game characters. And I thought for sure we'd get more accurate adaptations when the movies ended. Oh, how wrong I was. lol

37:19 - I thought that too. He treated them like a good father would and loved them. But it does make sense they would feel betrayed, they are kids afterall. But only if someone explained it even better than Bert by saying he risked his life to save them from Umbrella to start with the dog incident. He could have given them to Evelyn and then just made new babies while living off his storage of their blood. He did not need to try and save them, that alone shows just how much he loved them.

this feels like a entirely different series but they didn't want to take the chance with a new IP so they slapped the RE name on it for the recognition dude we deserve a GOOD adaptation of the RE franchise to the movies and TV series it deserves it but if this was by itself stand alone it could have been fine but with RE hell HELL NO

Resident Evil is supposed to be simple. It's zombies. It's a big evil corporation. It's mutated animals. It's super-powered villains. HOW DID THEY FUCK IT UP SO BAD?

Noticed so many issues after watching including zombies can barrel over guards and eat there face but ignore jade as she cuts through them with a trash can lid. Also when they go under the temperature gauge when being guided the first time they get low to the ground but the second time they just jump over the couch with no concern and barely go under it again .

I feel like this show was not originally made to be Resident Evil but the writer kept getting rejected. But since Netflix read "Zombies" in the script and had the License for Resident Evil, they thought "Well let's just slap the name on it and rename some characters and people will love it!!" Not understanding that it's what sealed it's fate. Thank God it was cancelled.

I tried hard to watch this since I grew up on RE from the PS one days. This had to be one of the worst shows I’ve ever seen. Poor story, poor characters, poor execution. Keep in mind that this show's showrunner didn't create Supernatural. He was brought in as a writer to Supernatural in the 4th season, I think, and he didn't become showrunner until season 11.

I really admire you guys for having the strength to watch this. Can't wait to see Lady D depicted as a cross-dressing asian man that is actually a good guy, Chris Redfield as a pacifist who hates guns, Jill Valentine with ptsd and a fixation on Leon/Carlos(they are the same character now) because the writers forgot it was actually Claire who met him in Racoon City and Ada Wong being a hulking indian man with a great beard and nerdy jokes. That would totally rock!

This series make the movies look awesome, specially the second one with nemesis and the besr Jill cast ever. Also wesker was so well casted

So I looked at a good amount of the Rotten Tomatos audience reviews and I didn't see anything about the wesker being race swapped. Most people agree that lance is the best part of the show. However, one good actor can't save a dumpster fire.

Nobody is going to mention how the drones seem to have unlimited ammo? The amount of shooting they do would require much more physical space on the drone to contain all of the bullets.

The show made it impossible to make you care. This is why i hate it when shows switch between timelines. It ruins the pace to begin with but when the show is so subpar it becomes a chore to watch. Like every time the show tried to do something interesting it would switch to the other timeline and when you did not care to begin with it kinda blew every chance. And that is like one of the minor problems lol.

I'm going to give you the best advise anyone has ever given you , folks. Ready for this. Firstly, sell or throw away all your resident evil Dvds, all shows movies everything. Then, ignore all other resident evil shows and movies that exist. Now that you've done that, play all the games in chronological order. Now you've expereinced the best resident evil story, and you don't need to look anywhere else.

And Netflix wonders why their own content isn't pulling in new subscribers. WHY TF ARE THEY SPENDING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS on shi like this, Red Notice, Cowboy Bebop, the witcher. They gotta make sure that they have the right writers to all those shows/movies and stop forcing the "woke" themes and changing the damn plot/story of the franchises.

What’s great about the (early) RE games is that the protagonists are always surviving by the skin of their teeth. But these shows/movies just give everybody thick plot armor.

The scene with the spit kind of irked me because I called it as soon as they said it thrives in saliva. Why waste your precious lab solutions, which likely are very hard to come by in a post-apocalypse on a ship out in BFE nowhere?? Why not just spit in it the petri dish as a first test? Fabricated drama in that entire scene.

So in conclusion: just play the games. You'll have a much better experience.

If you want to experience 16 seasons of resident evil… just enjoy the games.

I also gave up on Resident Evil long ago, but it still hurts to see its' poor desecrated corpse be revived and mutilated anew, every time. Resident Evil very much is the proverbial dead horse.

Its very disappointing to find out someone connected to "Supernatural" is involved in this mess.

It is really sad Resident Evil never gets a good live action makeover. It really isn't a hard formula to port. Yet you get these titles that only ever have the name in common. Hollywood just hates videogame ports. The number of awful to good is extreme.

Another note about the "OG Wesker" scene... The Umbrella soldiers don't look like half baked stormtroopers, they actually look menacing with their gas masks and basic helmets. I have no idea why they felt the need to make them look so goofy.

When Joe said the creator of Resident Evil was the creator of Supernatural, my brain was in denial. Eric Kripke would NOT fuck up a Resident Evil. Relieved to see he was nowhere near this.

I'm with Other Joe! I loved Supernatural and had great characters especially Dean and Castiel! The first 5 seasons are absolute classics! After that they had some Hit and miss Seasons and then had that Awful Series finale! Truly one of the worst finales I have seen! But I do love the Show and love the cast! This new Resident Evil Series It was just not good and found it boring at times and hated the characters except for Wesker!

I give the show a 2 out of 10 and that's for the graphics of the enemies and the enemies they had not counting the zombies

The whole reason Umbrella collapsed and several new Umbrellas popped up was cause the Raccoon City outbreak became public knowledge. Anytime a survivor goes somewhere and an incident happens them being a Raccoon City survivor is usually enough for everyone else to make them their leader to get them through that situation.

The flashbacks really were a problem to me. Maybe they were trying to pull a LOST TV show type of flashback style but it got stretched out for miles. Like focus on the main story, show us why we should care about current characters. Is a 2 out of 10 for me.

I didn't know this show was actually made by someone at CW but it definitely feels like it. I'm not surprised hearing that. It feels like some Generation Z BS.

The director needs to give a paper with bulletin points of what he wants to happen, then give a “actual” director the artistic license to make an actual story.

I only watched one episode and that's probably going to be it for me. You guys said that main character girl gets everyone killed and it reminds me of that woman from Fear the Walking dead and how I hated her for the exact same reason.

Meanwhile the RE was created by Andrew Dabb...you know which seasons he worked on in supernatural?? 12-15. So when he says "My last series went on for 15 seasons" it makes me want to slap him in the face for taking credit for other people's work.

Gamespot gave this a 9 out of 10… that’s insane. And usually they score things lower.

had a really hard time enjoying this show. Mostly because the main character is completely unlikable. She is extremely selfish, self centered, self righteous, thinks she is smarter than everyone else when in actuality she is the one that always messes everything up, i just couldn't find a single thing about her that i could relate to. I did think wesker was amazing and portrayed the different clones admirably, the woman who is originally in charge of umbrella was ok too, like the performance later when she is a puppet. I didn't even mind the other sister that much.. just that main character thou, its a horrible character.

Just like with the Halo show, you have to wonder: who is this show even for? Teens won’t like the Hello Fellow Kids writing and adults won’t like the disrespect shown to the source material. It’s a show with no audience.
