It’s great to see an update video on this! I just picked up a true flamer mod for my EPG flamer yesterday. I upgraded from the stabilized flamer it initially came with. I run an aristocrats flamer with +25% damage while aiming and -90% weight. I have a prime receiver, reflex sight, and stabilized stock on it The most recent info I found from digging was like you mentioned, the flamers are all the same for the most part. However, a stabilized flamer is +25% recoil while the aligned and true flamer mods are minus recoil percentages, which is why I wanted to upgrade. I went with the true as it has 2% better aiming speed, 5% better aiming, but 12% less recoil then the aligned flamer. It’s -10% recoil for true, -22% recoil for aligned. How does that work in the grand scheme of everything? I’m not sure, but it has to be better than just +25% recoil. I checked this info by checking the mods on my flamer slug buster, so I assume it’s the same? I run a full health commando build, (I think? This is my 5th month of playing) no sneaking. Which works out as I learned from this video that the flamer is loud 😅 I don’t use VATs, just ADS, and honestly I don’t even notice my AP at all. I pretty much just keep melting the SBQ’s face and only stop to reload. My secondary is a AA handmade with 25dwa I use maxed commando and science cards, maxed bloody mess, maxed adrenaline, maxed tenderizer, and maxed tank killer and it does a lot of damage with my legendary perks. I think that’s everything off the top of my head, as I’m writing this on break haha. I also use one rank of long shot, I but may switch it to a max rank now as I realized ground pounder doesn’t make a huge difference to me while reloading my flamer and handmade (I have speed demon mutation). I share my setup and experience with it since I run a different build (non VATs) and have a great time using it! Could I do more damage using VATs? Sounds like it, but again I enjoy my setup and still melt enemies with it 😄 Thanks for doing an update video! I was really looking for current info on this weapon to see if I was maximizing its potential. Edit: can a case be made that an enclave flamer would benefit more from an ADS build as opposed to VATs? Maybe a future video topic to explore?

Since they added all the mods to the vender bots in watoga and the park I haven’t been able to find jack I use to be able to find the aligned flame barrel every 3 days haven’t found it since the change. It’s easier to get the entire flamer from dropped connection

Reflex sight not reducing ap has to be a bug. I got a reflex sight and legendary vampire 25 faster fire rate - 25ap cost. It was glorious. Hopefully it will be fixed.

That's my gun! I've been collecting them since before you could craft legendary mods. The biggest shock for me was when I recently had to rebuild into a commando. I get to use my automatics and flamers now, the snipers are still decent without the perks.

Just incase anyone was curious for trading.. Calibrated capacitor = 750ll3/300k caps Forceful stock = 500ll3/200k caps Reflex sight = 100ll3/40k caps Aligned flamer barrel = 100ll3/40k caps Aligned automatic barrel = 500ll3/200k caps Severe beta wave tuner = 200ll3/80k caps All other aligned barrels are around 50-100ll3/20k-40k caps depending on the person.. they arent very desireable outsided the aligned sniper barrel. Most valuable rolls are AA and V, 50c/ffr, 25lvc/wbs. 25LVC lowers flamer to 24ap cost. AA2525 full mods = 4000-4500ll3/1.6m-1 8m caps V2525 full mods = 3750-4000ll3/1.5m-1.6m caps The godrolls are AA2525, and V2525... but a combination of 50c instead of ffr is worth only maybe 200-300k caps less. And wbs can be valued about the same as 25lvc because it breaks so quickly, and youll be spamming coffee anyways😂 Last note, bloodied is great too, people generally value AA higher though because it works on any build and hits bosses harder, while everything else dies so quickly you wont see any difference between bloodied or aa..

Idk...i kinda feel the drop chances have gotten better. Ive gotten 4 from enclave missions in the past week. 2 aligned flamer barrels, 2 with reflex, 1 aligned sniper, 1 true sniper.

Also, I had a quad short barrel one that I slapped a sniper barrel on. The magazine should be 48 as it normally holds 12. To my surprise it holds 99. Pretty great for a powerful sniper. I don't know if it will do this if you just roll a quad sniper without it being modded from another barrel.

Bethesda needs to do the same thing with the Ultracite laser guns! it annoys me i cant put my Hot Rod flames paint on my Ultracite laser rifle, i love the colour change of the laser and speed increase. Always good info thank you!

I run an EPG sniper from medium to long range. I have AA vats accurate, and bloodied vats accurate. With a stealth bonus from medium to long range the damage is still huge! 1 shot super mutants, 4 shot behemoth 👍

Been grinding the mods for a long time now have all of them except the calibrated receiver. Built the aligned flamer with reflex sight and an automatic rifle. After many WT runs the only thing I would say is flamer and gun are great, so it is down to how close you want to get to kill. The rifle for me is a 2 shot level 100 mutant killer from a ranged shot. Was happy to roll a vampires flamer.

I can give you a calibrated comp on pc. I have had four drop for me while I have not been able to find a aligned auto. I also have around 50 enclaves with various rolls if you want to use any for a video.

I ran a quad epr as a sniper alongside my epr flamer. sam ammo.and the quad sniper is glitched and gives 100 rounds. I've changed it for a plasma caster now. also shares ammo with the flamer but insane damage.

Hi, Turtle. You should compare it to Holy Fire. I have several Enclave flamers, but the range makes it a lot less useful, in my opinion. Holy Fire does almost as much damage at a much better range, and I can sneak fairly well with it (just the sneak perk card level 3), and I can use it in VATS in a very ammo-efficient way. I am coming up on half a million fuel because of this play style.

Got a box mod reflex sight for it today. First time ever seeing it. But is it worth it to attach to my flamer if it doesn’t affect AP anymore? Or is there a hidden effect I should know of

Spawned at Watoga train station as Dropped connection was on. Entering the station and "joined" the event but ended 2 seconds later. Got rewarded an Enclave with True flamer barrel, stabilized stock and reflex sight. Never got one with three mods on them. Especially not after doing nothing at all.

Only use it for invisible mutation enemies with commando build, so I'm not bother much about legendary effect

All the crazy stuff that used to be fun to use has been snuffed out, you can still be strong but it is like 3 meta builds that the vast majority of people use. I miss some of the more crazy stuff that used to be in the game. Wish instead of custom servers that no one uses they would add in a legacy sever with all the broken stuff that used to be in the game. It would need to let you do everything the normal servers do just not bring stuff over to it that doesn’t exist in it. Then you could bounce back and forth depending on what mood you were in.

AA aligned-auto EPR, with forceful stock, severe beta wave tuner and reflex sight. Equip science perks for the extra damage and laugh as you melt everything in VATS. Fantastic weapon.

A lot has changed since I last played. Did they nerf the AP reduction from mods in general or just for the EPR?

Don’t forget any box mod you add or take off will be permanently used up. Be sure not to accidentally waste valuable box mods and also bear in mind rolling a decent set of legendary effects will be costly as you can only re roll and not craft them in bulk. Do consider, if you want an easier time and a lot less farming, using the regular plasma rifle, particularly the slug buster from wastelanders quest is excellent and easily modified as you can learn all the plans. The damage is not that much better for the enclave version so only grind for it if you really really want too.

I was never bothered about this gun, but the last few months I have been searching for mods to upgrade the one I have, I haven't found a single mod for it in 3 months, I have found players selling the mods in vendors, but that's it.

Sneaking with the plasma flamer is possible, the anti-armor one can destroy the enemies before they can detect you... At least with my build...

Since I never use VATS, AP is not an issue for me. I have the Enclave flamer, but I don't use it. My endgame weapon used to be a V FFR Flamer, now I use the Holy Fire. It's DPS is a little better than regular flamer. I have to be honest, though. I'm bored with this game and haven't played in over a month. I'm somewhere around level 970. I played full health entirely up until around level 450, iirc, so it took me longer to rank up. I don't think I could bear farming West Tek again.

I’ve been playing for years and only just picked up a railway a few weeks ago, then I find an enclave flamer for a few thousand caps and boom, I’m now the most powerful entity in the universe😅

the biggest nerf was making it a commando weapon with flamer mod, they took the one high DPS weapon riflemen had, and the best close support weapon they had, and gave it to commandos with already flooded weapon types that don't need "another good dps gun, but with short range"

Yo Turtle, the shops stay the same regardless of server. They only change every 20 hours when the caps/bullion/scrip resets for the day. I would go to every vendor that has a possibility of selling the mods on each character everyday for like 2 weeks and found every good mod for the EPG. I recommend you do this as well.

Calibrated beats prime now? Also I made a auto pistol character so the pistol and science perks seem to work together.

Everything is amazing about it except AP cost which is horrendous.

Mods are a true pain in the ass to attain without trading. Finally lucked out last night and found an aligned auto in someone's vendor for 25k and then he's got a severe beta wave for me today. Thank you for saying that the flamer barrel has a set ap cost. That is something that could easily screw someone over.

EPG is quite good in short barrel configuration... imo it is better than sniper rifle. At least for a VATS build.

is the situation different on the console side, I have a flamer mod Enclave quad and it has a capacity of 390 and the ap cost is 24. I play on ps5

I went to my base the other day looked at the floor seen someone had left me something. Looked inside and the flamer mod was in there. I can't speak.

I have always said the ap cost is unreasonable on these. All the “grolls” posted with crit damage and even ap cost (usually around 25 before this), unless you spam coffee or cake, there is almost no point. I have an AA25dwa+50 flamer. Everyone said reroll it. Now sone are asking me for it. Its a face tank machine specially with sentry PA.

it took me a solid two weeks of only server hoping and trading on reddit to mod a dozen enclave rifles/flamer not ideal at all I hope they make it easier for people that don't have that kind of time. Using more than one character to server hop was my secret start the day in private server then join a team in public using different characters in same public server by closing application and switching characters. once i got a few reflex sights and calibrated capacitors it was easy to trade for everything else.

So if I have a epg with a aligned flamed barrel and reflex is that the good one?

I played few H with railway and I hate it hard to control without vats while flamer normal plasma oh God this is end game weapon for me with 3 stars that boost dmg I just own everything that approach me, I took another one for snipe setup /me lvl 51

try compare it to the standard plasma flamer, on paper - the damage isnt much lower in practice, the standard still melts everything as a daily driver and its competitive against bosses. easier to mod. The big selling point other than accessibility - it doesn't break as quickly as the enclave version. I cant remember if they consume the same AP.
