Also special thanks to Cuyler. His work has provided so much detailed knowledge of AC that we know of today. And his work generating fast Nook codes has been invaluable. Without him, this run wouldn't have been possible. His channel can be found here:

I spent two weeks preparing for this run between generating fast Nook codes, preparing item lists, preparing a route, and practicing strats. There is a lot of technical information needed to speedrun this category at a high level. Even during the run I adjusted the route on the fly several times due to something not working or to optimize gameplay.
If you want to follow along with my route and the items that I collect during this run, you can find my route and item lists that include the Nook Codes in my Discord channel under my-ac-documents:

I spent almost 5 hours resetting towns until I got an acceptable one. I'm looking for an A-2 Nooks acre, an A-4 Post office acre, and a small corner river acre for fast fishing. After 64 towns, I finally found one and the run began! I also got lucky and got the best Post Office acre which is a 1 in 3 chance and saved about 5 minutes through the run, I was very happy about that. I did however get the worst train station though which required a backup tree planting strat, but I made it work.
It was very challenging and exhausting to stay focused for 16+ hours straight. Long speedruns require not only routing the game but routing when to eat, when to take bathroom breaks, and when to chill for a minute. It wasn't easy to do, especially while streaming for nearly 22 hours including the time spent resetting towns. I pulled it off though and I'm doing just fine now. For anyone who intends on running this category, be careful not to overdo it, it's harder than it looks to stay focused 16+ hours straight.
Despite the slow clean-up phase at the end, this was a solid time that I'm happy with. This was a 3-hour improvement over previous WR and one hour faster than I was expecting. I estimated fast Nook codes would save 1.5 hours and e-reader cards would save 30 minutes. The other 1 hour time save is likely from route optimizations such as faster Golden Axe time, menu management optimization, cataloguing items acquired from the other player characters more, dropping items off on the ground toward the end instead of selling them, not taking breaks to eat, using a wireless wavebird controller to mash buttons during bathroom breaks, and several other smaller optimizations throughout the run. We will see what the future holds for 100% speedruns.
If you're curious about any part of the route or strats that I do, feel free to ask in the comments. There is a lot of detail to this game and it would take a library to cover it all.
