Күн бұрынVideo of Animal Crossing for Nintendo GameCube showing interesting and amusing moments that happened as I played the game. Kitty asks me for a ball and then promptly kicks it off a cliff, some light from a window seems to hover in mid-air over a ramp, Wart Jr. basically calls me ugly, Puck can't decide if he's warm or cold, Baabara's promise of a strange painting turns out to be a lie, I have an awkward moment with Limberg, I tell a somewhat embarrassing story about seeing Nate where I didn't expect him, and more.
Some of these clips were captured in my main town of Forest, but others were from Ohio and Aja Blu. There's a good mix of all three towns this time.

This video uses a few seconds of the song "Rodeo Show" by The Green Orbs from the KZfaq free music library, and I used a sound effect from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64). For the outro, I also used Acedio's Animalese tool at acedio.github.i....

That's what I was afraid of! And that cliff is steep, so I couldn't get the ball up it anyway (I actually tried afterwards, just to see).

Kitty behaves just like a real cat! She asks for something, you give it to her, and then she decides that she actually doesn't want it anymore and swats it away.

Something similar to the first one happened to me when I was little! A villager asked me to bring her a ball, but I accidentally kicked it into the river. When the ball floated past her, she thanked me for bringing it!

Serious question, why do you think they made the villagers more friendly in the games after this? I personally loved how rude they could be, always gave me a laugh

Because it’s a kids’ game and they could do things from saying they can’t be seen with you as they don’t want anyone to think you’re friends to questioning your mental capability

Aly It was annoying though when they would tell you off nearly every time you said hi or disagreed or refused a trade with them or something. They were very unlikable and you need an incentive to befriend them, you couldn’t be friends without being a total pushover and the dialogue also doesn’t really change in the Gamecube compared to Wild World. For the most part, they’re just as rude to you as they were when you stepped off the train.

I've been playing the original Animal Crossing again recently and even though some things are a lot more tedious than I remember, the game has so much charm and atmosphere. And easily the best soundtrack of the series.

I always felt like the animals were rude because the game was initially marketed as a “life simulator”. It’s a sort of subtle lesson. Not everybody you meet in life is going to immediately treat you like a best friend. Some people can be downright mean. It’s sad that New Leaf toned down the idea because I feel like it was one of the best parts of the first version.

Despite plugging hundreds of hours into this game as a kid, I had absolutely NO IDEA that villagers could come visit you sometimes after they move out?? Across my many towns I traveled from and to, I'd never ONCE had that happen. So wild that I'm still learning things about this game in 2021.

Also, that Nate thing has happened to me a couple of times, too. It's so easy to miss, because the villager can appear anywhere in town and I never know when they are visiting.

2:34 My GameCube town has that EXACT same cliff with the waterfall spilling into a basin. There's even a rock in the same spot in my town too. o_o

Maybe, but it could be because I run more often in this game. I don't even bother with flowers on GameCube, so I'm free to run everywhere. In the other games, I usually walk to prevent killing flowers.

Loading times for entering and exiting buildings is also significantly faster in this game than in later ones, so that might make it seem like you’re moving faster, too.

So what happens if my friend and I have the same animal in our towns and I visit her town. Will the same animal recognize me because I have it in my town also?

No. But if a character moved from your town to your friend's town, then they would recognize you if you visited. For example, say it was Bob. He has to be the same specific Bob that you interacted with before, and not just any Bob.

It's actually the song that plays at the beginning of the game when you're still working for Tom Nook. I started up some temporary towns last year, so that's why I have some clips from early in the game.
